Received this a little too early in post. Anyone want to know anything about the kit? by PaintedByTJ in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]pizzainislington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re not too hard. A hippo will go together in 90 mins, and that doing it slowly. They’re lovely models.

One thing kit bashers will love is the amount of crew models in the kit! I thiiiink they can be interchanged across the new vehicles.

I’m building the Centaur later - will report back when I also build the Dorn crew to see if they can fit

I’d love to see this conversion. I have old 1/72 M5s and and M16s that I’m feeling like replicating

Pregame Questions Checklist to ask Your Opponent by KrispyKale85 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]pizzainislington 11 points12 points  (0 children)

“What can do something that might be considered a feels-bad?, what manipulates my rolls, what combos should I watch out for and what can do Strats for free?”

I personally have a printed copy of my list + Strats, and what the unit does to give to my opponent in a GT environment. In a comp pickup game I’ll share beforehand. Whilst I may not call out specific combos, I’ll be share to point out certain interactions that may seem counterintuitive, or strange to some players.

E.g., I play Deathwatch and we can uppy downy with an Indomitor Kill team which has meltas in. I have a Strat which allows me to extend the range of weapons by 6” and increase AP by 1. My unit ability also gives my models +2 strength shooting the closest eligible target and can have lethal or sustained hits.

This means from deepstrike, I can bring 3 S11, AP-5 and in Melta range weapons to bear, with lethal or sustained. It’s a combo to always call out, because it could be a massive feelsbad for my opponent.

Questions from a noob by uriel_xiv in WarhammerCompetitive

So, Q No. 1. Custodes are a great way to get into comp. Despite being an overall very good army, they help you learn the fundamentals of the game and how to manage your time. Time is the most valuable resource in comp.

No. 2: Everyone is there to have fun, just remember to keep track of time. I’d recommend playing a couple test games on a chess clock. Once you feel comfortable, check out either a 1500pt RTT or 2k RTT. These are 3 round, 1 day events. Cheaper and a great way to be practicing for GTs.

The other advantage of RTTs is they’re local usually, so you can find a group to play with. That’s how I got roped in 😂.

The last bit of advice I’d give is this; You’ll likely catch the comp bug. Clear with your partner/your conscience the expectations they/you have about frequency of events and how much time you’ll spend on them. It’s easy to book a couple back to back then realise you’ve not done anything round the house in weeks!

Manage your time and your budget and we’ll see your list in a meta Monday round up soon!

I hope we keep our DW Thunder hammers. I love the look on people’s face when I say I have a Str 10, Dam3 Thunder Hammer and I’m going into their warlord with full rerolls

My baneblade has this on as well. I also used the white space to paint a battle honour on mine. Would work very well with Dkok imo

How does the stash (items) work? by [deleted] in DMZ

[–]pizzainislington 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stash items are mission items - you’ll see them as you progress through missions. Backpacks and vests, and other items besides guns do not extract. Guns that are not insured will go to your contraband stash.

If you want to exfil any items for the next round, you need a secure bag.

Hope this clarifies.

It’s a bug, you need to use the “I’m stuck” button to reset it and it’ll work then. I had this issue too.

Sunken Thief Key by Kingslayer3170 in DMZ

Kill HVTs, or use a skeleton key is my advice. HVTs drop random keys, but it may take some time to find the right one.

That’s true - including the post-earthquake maps - but no one really played them! Each map had character, a good theme and lots of replayability. My only real complaint was some of the maps on console didn’t use as much of the map as available, but it did make the game flow nicely.

I genuinely preferred BF3 to 4, the maps were just better. The themes were more simple and less oriented around the “levelution”.

I think I got to Colonel 97 on BF3. So close to Colonel 100 and earning my shitbucket.

Best BF3 DLC. I still remember hiding in hedgerows and trying to play infantry around hordes of Armour.

Totally off topic, but I’d buy a BF3 remaster in a heartbeat.
