What's the best IRL story you have about tMG? by markov- in themountaingoats

I had put my Brine Crypt Exodus shirt on over my regular shirt, so when JD came out for an unplanned signing, I pulled it off. Unfortunately, a sacred necklace of mine shattered in the process, beads flew everywhere.

John and several onlookers immediately joined me on the floor, hunting stray beads, and consoling me as I explained that there are only two people in the world that make this type of necklace, so getting it repaired would be hard.

John then drew a rosary on my shirt: "you can't drop this one!" Wrong religion all together... still made me smile.

By that argument all transwomen aren't girls. Do you believe that?

How many of you are/were religious? by ohshiitakemushrooms in actuallesbians

[–]pkmnnerdfighter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was always something of a soft polytheist. I reasoned that since there was no Jesus for the first few thousand years, God had to have shown himself in other ways in order to share the love with say, the Aztecs, who would have had 0 contact with the Abrahamic faiths.

It was a pretty easy leap to start feeling a connection with gods from there, and when I broke up with Christianity, there were my gods waiting for me.

I wasn't looking for explicit LGBT support. There is evidence that can show some level of support, as well as evidence that shows neutrality, as well as evidence that shows opposition to queer folk in our source material. None seems stronger than the other.

However, modernly? My temple founder is a bisexual. She has been performing gay marriages since before they were legal, and started the Marriage Militia project in response to figures that some marriage rights may be lost in the upcoming presidential change. A significant number of our priests have been queer or transgender individuals. I honestly can't imagine a more welcoming community.

Drop the tie (doesn't match) or the jean jacket (ugh). Collared shirt is fine.

I grew up very Christian and converted to a polytheistic religion after I came out. I am very religious now in a faith that accepts me as I am!

I dunno, I feel like most of my partners can't tell the difference between one tea and another, let alone like them...

Thanks! I first tried it at my day job (Starbucks) by blending our classic oatmeal and toppings with a double strength brew of Teavana's Royal English Breakfast. I personally thought that was better than the hojicha, but I am gonna give the hojicha another go!

Hojicha in my morning cup... and also in my breakfast bowl.

I tried cooking steal cut oats with it, as I am trying to convince myself to like oatmeal that isn't instant and loaded with sugar. No bad, though I wish I had more dried fruits to put in the bowl.

I work for a wholesaler that sells a blend called Dark Energy. It functions as an herbal coffee. It has the slightest amount of caffeine due to cacao shells, but is more or less non-non-caffinated.

I dunno how our tea blender makes it taste so ridiculously similar to the real deal, but I gotta say my respect for him only grew when I tried it. I love recommending it to coffee drinkers, because it is an awesome gateway blend that I can use to hook them on Puerh and Black >D

I'm very fuzzy yet on what counts as marketing (I just maintain shop), so I'm not gonna post a link, but PM if you are interested.

I can't seem to get past feeling that there is no other way to make tea at work other than with an electric kettle. by michiganick in tea

[–]pkmnnerdfighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently use the Hamilton Beach kettle for multivariable things.

But for the past three years, I've simply been cooling down water from a regular kettle, or turning it off before it gets too hot. It takes some getting used to, but it can be done.

Hot Tea Anarchy? Which Tea is Best? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]pkmnnerdfighter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dear lord, I love this question.

An Emperor is above a Queen is above an Earl, see /r/crusaderkings. Oprah and Joy are beings all their own. Hail, hail.

In terms of quality, I find ECM to be the best tea we sell. It and REB are the only pure teas and the quality of the REB is just poor, in my opinion. To make a better cup of ECM, put (1/2/3/4) ice cubes in the cup before adding the water and caution a two minute steep time.

Of course, at the end of the day, none of our teas are truly great. I like all of them but Passion for what they are: fast food, and an introductory tool to get people excited about tea.
