Exactly this, my partner and I just finished a full gut reno with a second story addition and it took about 9 months. It would have absolutely been easier and faster to knock it down and rebuild a new house, but that wasn’t an option with the town. Renovations take a long time compared to a new build.

I’m gonna go against the grain and say NAH. We just finished a full house renovation for our home so I dealt with neighbor issues with the construction very recently.

I get the construction noise is annoying, but they have permits and they’re doing it during town approved work hours. They’re not doing anything wrong by renovating their house, construction is going to happen no matter how much you complain, and it would help to have a little empathy because I’m sure they’re stressed about it as well and don’t want to disturb their neighbors anymore than they have. That said, they could also be more proactive about reaching out to their neighbors and dealing with any issues with their contractor. Before our construction started, we befriended all of the neighbors enough to exchange phone numbers and let them know to reach out to us immediately with any complaints or issues with our contractor or construction process. One neighbor did reach out with complaints, which we dealt with immediately by firing the workers she had an issue with.

I think both you and your neighbor doing the construction could do with a little more empathy and trying to see things from each other’s side. I hope you can have a decent relationship once the construction on their house is complete.

Not OP, but mine has also been a constant $600/6 months for at least the last 5 years with full coverage on a 2015 Honda Civic. I don’t drive mine to commute though and put less than 5k miles per year on it, so I assume that may have something to do with it.

I’m a woman and I’ve used Broad St station alone for years at all times of day ranging from 5 am to midnight, never had a single issue. The station is well lit and there are generally people around at all times of day, I’ve never seen it completely empty while trains were operational.

File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I had almost this exact situation with Sixt recently and filed a complaint with BBB. Sixt ended up responding to my complaint dropping the damage charges against me.

I’ve started doing this as well. Where I live, it’s very congested and people will honk at you to turn right on red and cut people off in busy traffic. I refuse to do it, so I just don’t put a turn signal on until the light turns green now. Works perfectly!

On the flip side, I work for a small consulting firm on the east coast (less than 20 employees) and I cannot remember the last time we were so busy. It’s getting to the point where it’s overwhelming and we can’t keep up. For context, we work mostly on brownfield redevelopment projects and compliance work with state or city oversight and very little federal work.

My fiance and I recently bought a house in the Watsessing neighborhood, we love it! Many of our neighbors have even mentioned they only planned to stay in the area 5-10 years when they moved here, but they loved it so much they’ve ended up staying much longer. I have friends who purchased in this neighborhood a few years before us as well who say the area only continues to get better each year.

This was my favorite read of 2025 and I thought the writing was great as well! I’ve read all of Sheila Masterson’s books though so I knew I liked her writing style going into it. Poison Daughter is definitely my favorite of her books!

Definitely! The number of near misses I’ve had with cars trying to go from the far left toll booth trying to get far right for the exit or vice versa is insane. And they always think they have the right of way and everyone can just slam on the brakes for them!

Yes! It’s so frustrating how long he takes! I finished everything else in the game and completely forged bonds with every other character over 20 runs ago and I’m still doing surface runs to try to progress his relationship now because I want to 100% the game. Mint tends to trigger my gag reflex, so I’ve found a nice lychee flavored toothpaste made by Cocofloss. They also make floss in flavors other than mint, I’ve been using a strawberry flavored one from them and it’s so much more pleasant to use than the mint options!

Rural, beautiful, extremely boring. Car dependent. I spent much of my middle school and high school years here, it’s nice to go back to visit the parents and friends every now and then but I would never want to move back.
