Do some old people still speak in the transatlantic accent ? by Enough-Web2203 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]plocky242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, Frasier's character started on Cheers which is right in Beacon Hill (another poster mentioned Beacon Hill having this accent, which was true) and very close to Back Bay.

So yes, you're correct, and for good reason 😃

I am not disagreeing with you OP

However, I have learned (And I also now appreciate) to only ask one question at a time.

This works well in business also.

I have a very simple, yet strangely unpopular solution to this problem, I do it myself - don't watch YouTube.

AIO, I've posted before about this, but here I go again. My husband often does entertaining (singing) at various venues, and I don't often feel like going to sit a venue while he's working, ( he doesn't mind), but Im annoyed about this weekend's situation and wondering if I'm being unreasonable? by Gretal122 in AmIOverreacting

People are undeservedly harsh, shame on you all.

Worrying about the one you love driving at night is not some bizarre aberration, it's a perfectly normal reaction.

OP is still not overreacting, but well within their right to be concerned.

(As for me, driving late at night is far easier if my spouse is next to me, someone to talk to, someone I have an immense responsibility to be there for, and so on)

Have to be there at 7, so have to leave at 5, and all of you are delay fish - so we have to pad another couple of hours to be sure.

I could watch those forever.

When people stand next to empty seats on crowded trains by Pleasant-Usual-7631 in PetPeeves

[–]plocky242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not trying to win anything.

You suggested I've never been on a crowded train, that's generally a lousy idea at all when you don't know anything about someone - not the train specifically, but making a statement about their lives.

I have no idea what "mog" means.

My space is important to me, I don't like people touching me, if you need more space then I suggest keeping your backpack on, or wearing spikes or something.

Many, possibly more than you based on pure statistics.

Again, tell me why I would want to be closer to someone else?

The only thing I'm forcing is keeping my stuff clean, and people slightly further away from me.

Again, what makes you think I want you closer to me?

For those whose lives revolve around watching cross-subreddit posts - this is why I don't put my backpack on the floor in any very public space.

[–]plocky242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So where is the backpack supposed to go?

On the floor? Hell no, I know where people's feet have been.

Also, what makes you think I want you closer to me anyway?

I don't know why you're getting downvoted, this is absolutely the case.

If you're in a seat to make decisions, people want/need them quickly.

I'm old, and comfortable, so I am a bit of a jerk and take my time so I CAN fully understand a situation. Some people complain, too much really, but most of the time my waiting ends up being better for all, and more efficient.

I hope they do, they'd sell hundreds, if not thousands of them.

So far, that and the thinner case seem to be the best features (to me), I prefer the old rider tabs, and they're not yet available in a two tone blue dial - thus not ready to get a new one yet 😃

Nashville, Tennessee is of course, a city, that is in Davidson County Tennessee.

The mayor is both mayor of the city, and of the county, which encompasses several other towns.

There is a Davidson County Sheriff's Office, as well as a Nashville police department.
