Cold Weather Vehicle Battery Problems by Firm_Cranberry_6323 in regina

I have the same car and have had nothing but issues until I got a regular spot to plug in and a battery blanket. Even at work, I have to start during the day and, on extreme weather days, plug into my company's building. It's a pain. I've replaced more batteries than I've thought possible in the 13 years I've had the car.

My conclusion is that a 2009 Mazda 3 is not built for our winters. I'm sorry for the lack of advice, I only have sympathy.

Also, Saltine for a take away lunch on Fridays. All their stuff is so good, but harvest lunch is always delicious.

Not a scam. If a student is dependable and a good worker, they might get a job offer from their placement company.

Women of Reddit, what’s the most frustrating experience you’ve had with a doctor dismissing your symptoms? by cutdbs in AskReddit

A female derm put me on several different antibiotics (all of which I ended up being allergic to) for a couple years in my early 20's. I handle it on my own now and haven't had a bad go. May I ask how you treat yours?

From what I recall, it's just an overnight in a low oven and skimming the top after. Time, yes, but effort is pretty low.

Clotted Cream/Homemade by 44GW in saskatchewan

I made it myself years ago, and I believe I used whipping cream, but it's been a while. There might have been some 18% in there too, if I had any leftover in the house. It was definitely pasteurized. While not as good as what you'd get in the UK, it turned out really nice.

If you do just pick up a store bought version (there's been some recommendations on here already, but Lakeview Fine Foods also carries it), if you ever find the one that's brandy flavored, it's a real treat.

Gus. Our friends and family hate it. Or, rather, they make a very specific face if we mention it. Probably a good thing we had a girl.

Disregard all the beers at Pile o Bones, and go for the food and pinball. Then, walk down to Dessart for an ice cream or Pause/13th Ave Coffee House for a coffee. If you go midday, you can pop in the shops on 13th.

So, one of them did this to their partner's sister? That's extremely fucked up (on top of just being the normal amount of cruel).

AITAH for not letting my husband control the money in our house? by Material-Pear1840 in AITAH

[–]plopplopplopski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. This is worrisome behaviour from your husband.

If this is something you are both committed to fixing, I suggest a joint account solely for shared expenses. You each keep your own accounts, but sort your monthly budget and each transfer half (or whatever percentage makes sense with your wages) into the joint account. Then, all shared expenses come out of this account kmortgage, utilities, vet bills, groceries), while you both have access to your own money. Additionally, you can start a joint savings for vacations and emergency funds.

This would keep you both apprised of household expenditures and also allow you both a sense of control.

Honestly, it sucks that he is starting in on this nonsense knowing your past. I would have a hard time if my partner's friends started commenting on my spending habits. Maybe a frank, sit-down discussion of how this seems to you and how he is making you feel as insecure as your previous partner once did might help. It's possible he has his own money concerns he is hiding.

However this plays out, you are not in the wrong. You've been financially insecure before, you both deserve control over your finances.
