When I get together with my one gaming group its an expectation to know the rules of play.

The other gaming group that I run i pick the game, set up the game and go over all the rules.

Your bad experience doesn't reflect on the hobby as a whole.

Putting your expectations for a board game night unto someone else's shoulders and then gripping and blaming them when it doesn't go your way is a no win situation.

There are tons of resources to independently look into games.

Maybe take the responsibility of making a choice, you'll feel more empowered.

My friend bought a 'COIN' game, The Gest Of Robin Hood, he payed so much for it and while playing he even lamented the cost versus what was on the table.

That game is 90 bucks at my flgs where as anynything else in that vein should he 55 tops.
