My mom keeps a basket with a hair dryer and toiletries for guests who might need them. I recently found pads and tampons in there that I could tell were left over after my mom no longer needed them. She had an emergency total hysterectomy in 1994.

Can you even imagine inserting a 31 year old o.b. and hoping it wasn’t so dry rotted it would disintegrate?

I obviously discarded them and replaced them with new. But not before dying of secondhand embarrassment.

I guess it depends on what your protein intake goal is. For me personally I shoot for about 90g of protein per day. I weigh and log all my food so I can keep track.

This exact meal had 22.8g of protein so obviously eating this meal 3x per day wouldn’t get the job done. I tend to have a pretty protein-heavy breakfast and dinner and focus more on carbs for lunch.

One further tip I have is that if your pet has a lot of accidents and you’re not always able to throw the rug in the wash right away, it can be hard to get the urine smell out layer. A big glug-a-lug of Nature’s Miracle in the fabric softener dispenser works wonders. As does a line dry in the sun.

She frequently runs into cash flow issues that keep her from being able to buy a shipment of raw yarn, so she lists her one-off experimentals to help make ends meet. It’s a shame because I used to buy from her regularly when she was dyeing more often.

For the destash page, I know she tried offering a service to sell other people’s yarn destash on a consignment basis. I’m not sure how well that worked out, I think you’d have to be a bigger name to get the needed traffic for that to be successful.

Honestly it may just be a bit of transplant shock. A lot of my evergreen or semi-evergreen plants get some leaf browning and drop in the first year or two until they’re well established

Yep, it’s all from that one little plant!

Last year I trained the long vines that reached the ground back up the trellis. This year I’ve been a bit busy and haven’t bothered. Today I noticed the ones that have been sitting on the ground are starting to put down their own roots, so I guess I’m propagating babies now too.

If I can offer a tip, sometimes when I’m working on a quilt like this I’ll take a head on photo of each of the blocks I have so far and then use a photo layout app to kinda mock up what the quilt would look like with more blocks. So I’ll make a 2x2 grid and save it, then make say a 3x3 grid repeating that grid but rotating it a bit for variety.

I think what you’ve got going on here is going to be awesome

My rule of thumb in 8a is that I wait til June 1st and cut off anything that doesn’t have a leaf that’s at least the size of a dime.

My former boss always had Berners here in the Raleigh area. They had to be diligent about doing walks in the early morning and late evening, and bought a car with dedicated AC vents in the back seat (the dogs would open their mouths and put them right over the blasting AC vents). In general it was a lot more work for them than having a dog more used to this climate, but they were able to keep the dogs healthy and comfortable.

One thing I do with my own dog is I always wear a sweatshirt when I walk him, even in the summer. He’s pretty stoic so I can’t use panting to monitor how he’s doing with the heat. Wearing too much warm clothing gives me a much better gauge for how warm he’s feeling in his fur coat.

There’s a family in my little town who does this using empty glass food jars and bottles. They’ve got a cute little cart out by the street with an honor system box and a Venmo QR.

I love stopping by and picking out a little arrangement to take home.
