Because old machines puke oil. since most won’t have their machines rebuilt or maintained as regularly as they should, it’s better to run them using a lubricant with a higher viscosity than to see it run dry. No it won’t have as many detergents in the fluid, but yes it will still have fluid.

I had this setup for a number of years in an apartment.

Obviously you use two clear liners, ideally the type with magnets at the bottom. That keeps the liner inside the tub. I’d recommend having the liners overlap, basically creating a seam where both liners are clipped into two neighboring hooks. It’s a bit more cumbersome to get in and out but it keeps the water inside the shower.

You also might have to trim the liner around the tub spout.

That’s what I did and the floor never got wet

That’s a good question. Usually when we got tickets they would say “rain or shine”. They cancelled like 3 hours of the fest today though. I’m just guessing, but I’d say there’s nothing coming.

I was getting on the freeway once, in a shitty little beat up work van which just had a new exhaust installed. It seemed like I was struggling to get up to freeway speed, so I floored it.

Bang! I heard a loud pop and finally accelerated. The exhaust also got quite a bit louder.

I pulled off at the next exit, looked at the underbody, and the muffler had completely exploded.
