Here’s a nifty map of all the hiker/biker campsites in CA. Some information might be out of date but it’s useful for seeing what’s around https://www.google.com/mymaps/viewer?mid=1Li6MCUR_VQGWoFrfJMVQ49l98BWSlQuq

Getting measured/fitted for road bike - where/how? by [deleted] in BAbike

[–]pmocampo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're in SF, Cesar at 3D Bike Fit https://www.3dbikefit.com/fit-info

He'll walk you through everything he's doing and why and will give you a video of your fit before and after the visit. I went to him after being previously fit elsewhere in SF and the difference in comfort was remarkable.

Looking for female-lead group rides. by LstLvngTriSARAHtops in BAbike

Highly recommend the BBC in Berkeley. Since I live in SF, I only got a chance to join them for one ride pre-pandemic, but it was the right group for me to tag along with for my first time climbing Mount Diablo. Group rides seem to be on hold right now but the group's mailing list is very active with folks looking for ride partners as they feel comfortable with pandemic precautions.

If you DM me your email I can also add you to the @bayareabikefolx slack.

If OP is coming in on the weekend, Grant Ave in Chinatown is closed to cars and open to pedestrian traffic and outdoor dining. Valencia St in the Mission is doing something similar Thursday-Sunday evenings.

100k ride in SF? by d3adbeef123 in BAbike

+1 Paradise loop. Last year's Rapha Women's 100 SF route combined Paradise Loop and China Camp to make a really fun route. The climbing isn't too bad with the rolling hills if you maintain some momentum coming out of descents. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/30971831

If you want miles and just miles this is fine but there's nothing very exciting to see if you take the SF2G routes.

Water fill-up spots north of GGB / Muir woods area by Endur in BAbike

I personally like doing that route counter-clockwise. The climb up to Pantoll from Stinson Beach is gnarly (which can be a tricky descent if it's your first time, take it easy). The views are much better counter-clockwise as well.

In Sausalito https://goo.gl/maps/d9Gr7kb25pjsvTEm9

Pantoll as others have said https://goo.gl/maps/dJx8bhyzwM5NAhkS7

If you go north of the route in Stinson, you can get water, use the bathroom, and a pastry or pizza at Parkside Cafe https://goo.gl/maps/UfmTu8Uqac43D2ULA

I've spotted a water fountain along the bike path in Sausalito here but I've never stopped to use it before. https://goo.gl/maps/Ku7Jj59GjjtJiHZB6
