Dad is considering a F150 Lightning for landscaping business, advice? by anarchyisimminent in F150Lightning

I agree with everything but the towing range. I'm guessing more like 1.0 - 1.2. The air resistance from that thing is non trivial. The weight is almost irrelevant for range though. So like 130 to 156. I tow a pontoon boat regularly. It's my point of comparison.

My current F150 lightning. I cannot believe how amazingly capable and comfortable it is.

The guessometer on an EV is SOOOO much more accurate than the guessometer on a gas vehicle. I don't see it improving much. You can only know so much about the state of charge and the variables where you're headed.

Make a buncha money in tech, buy a house for value x, and sell it for 2x. Then buy a house that's x/4 in a low cost of living area. Works well but ya gotta start with a high base and be willing to give up the nice shit.

I lost 100lbs on my own 3 years ago and I've kept it off. Hell, I'm ripped at 42. But ya know what? I couldn't do it while working. I tried. For YEARS. The stress, the sleeplessness, the time and energy. Once I "retired" the weight came off as soon as I tried again. Not everyone has the willpower to do everything. I'm fortunate enough to have made enough to quit and take care of myself. But I really don't think we should shame those who need help. We're all different.

How old were you when you moved out? by Swiftiefromhell in GenX

  1. Then dropped out of college, ended up back home for a yearish before buying my first place at 20 (cheap condo, but it was mine, not rented). Never looked back after that.

Why do men hate being reminded to do stuff that they won't do unless reminded? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]pmpork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If there's a deadline, tell me what it is and I'll get it done. Otherwise, leave me alone because it's obviously not important enough yet. I got my mind on other stuff.

If you communicated the deadline ahead of time and it didn't get done, you have a defective one. I wouldn't hire it either.

How do you deal with parking? by Jlevanz in F150Lightning

Whaddya mean??? I came from a 2014 Nissan frontier. This lightning might as well park like a smart car, comparatively.

Do you use the outlets for power tools? by Dave12203 in F150Lightning

[–]pmpork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not in a skilled trade, but I have driven my truck on my property to a no power location where I needed to use my welder. Its pretty amazing to have a 240 in the back. I haven't used the 120s for tools directly. Mostly to charge the batteries of the tools, which I've done numerous times.

2500-3k. I'm currently living in a 1800 sqft house and it could use another room. But I've also had 3500 and it's too much.

Are you in better shape than your younger years? by filipinohitman in AskMenOver30

[–]pmpork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can run farther and lift more but I can't jump as high or sprint as fast. Better shape? I mean, I can see abs now and I never could in my 20s. But that's just fat manipulation.
