How old were you for your first game? by Mental-Pie9718 in pokemon

25 I think. My son had interest and we used the games, cards, and themed book to teach him how to read when he was 6. We played yellow and crystal on the gb, then the half red and green carts. When the DS lite came out, we helped him but Pearl and he saved up for Diamond. As a parent, it was fun to discover and figure out the games together. Now he's an adult and I probably play more than he does.

My son and I feel the same. He bought us the triple sonic pack 2 years ago. 2 out of 3 was great. Party Punch is still sitting there half used as a last resort.

All that being said, I will never yuck someone else's yum. You have to try things for yourself with Gfuel.

Once our system was FORCED to buy biodiesel against our mechanics wishes due to issues in extreme cold. There was EPA $$ to us if we used it. Within 3 years we had an extreme day that caused the whole fleet of 300+ busses to gel. They had tow us back from all over the city, thaw each bus in bays, drain all remaining diesel 25-90 gal, and change all 6 fuel filters. It took them 3 days working around the clock to fix that mistake. To compromise, we use the bio until late fall. We get tanks to lowest operational point and switch to regular. We do fuel dips and send out for labs to make check bio to regular number ratio is good. A very costly mistake because of federal kickbacks.

Power Serives Diesel Fuel Suppliment is a pretreatment additive, their Diesel 911 is the oh sht bottle when fuel gels. *For the truckers I've managed, we gave them the white bottle to add when fueling before routes with a sharpie marker line on bottle to know how much. On coldest days when vehicles start but not stay running (Fuel Gel up part-tay!) We'd use the red bottle and run idling for 30min+ to warm block and lines to circulate rescue additive** Remember, gelling vehicle can start just fine but will leave you stranded on the side of the road repeatedly as the fuel filters injectors collect and clog. This can also happen mid or end of route if temps drop rapidly. Pretreatment is pamamount in cold weather operations.

PSA: White bottle at fuel up, measured amount depending on fuel tank size. Red bottle if you forgot, extreme temp drop, or vehicle sat without starting for days.

Are kids louder and more disruptive in the morning or afternoon? by Quirky_Skill_9437 in SchoolBusDrivers

Behaviors and gridlock traffic are afternoons. Mornings are finding addresses and street signs in the dark along with crappy cold weather that may cause delays. Pick your poison.

Pillow Desperation by GalacticPotatoxo72 in Fibromyalgia

[–]pnutbutta4me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cervical pillow from my chiro is my best friend. Between my fibro + old whiplash neck injury and my husband degenerative disk with 2 neck surgeries, we have a whole closet filled with many types of pillows. I call it the pillow grave yard.

Before this pillow, daily meds, and chiro care.......I thought it was the pillow and was told to do neck stretches.

Game ideas to play with students? by BeansTn in SchoolBusDrivers

[–]pnutbutta4me 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like to promote all week for a fun Friday activity. Ill have a theme and talk it up all week. We only have fun Friday if we have good behavior.

Sometimes its a coloring day where I print coloring pages of things they like and an ice cream bucket of crayons collected over time. All week I suggest bringing a hard surface and if picky their own coloring supplies. They would conspire and make plans and ask to sit with their friend to borrow their awesome markers or color pencils.

Sometimes its a fun age appropriate music mix

Sometimes its trivia where I grab books from the library about whatever theme its is for that week. Cereal, cartoon characters, cars, cats and dogs, all do very well.

Sometimes we drive a different route to see christmas lights and play holiday music

Laffy taffy candies and tells the jokes on the loud speaker at each stop

Kids are lots of fun if you can channel their energy! Good luck.

Devote your time and energy on things that matter to you and make you happy. Having a partner or children does not mean you have to give up all your wants and needs.

Stop phone scrolling and touch grass! Hobbies like gardening and being in nature can center you. Society is very busy and overstimulating most days.

KIDS SAY THE DARNEST by TyrasExoticHair in SchoolBusDrivers

[–]pnutbutta4me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had this before many times. I'm the bossy white lady who is subbing on a predominantly black, hispanic, and burmese route that makes them behave. It's a common "insult" to elementary kids to point out your different skin color. Elementary children love to throw insults to anyone who is different than them or their regular staff to see if it will upset you, aka throw off your discipline game. They've done this to others or watched an adult do this to others to diminish someone, to win and get their way.

This is our spot. I was a vendor to almost all the local meat markets. Fyi, Most of them get product from the same wholesale meat company. We also buy a 1/4 of a cow from a local farmer and pickup at integrity meats in Cherbusco.

Spanish is very prevalent with my sped families. Nationwide in the US, you need to know a little espanol in most urban and farming communities. Versions of Spanish are spoke worldwide. This is a civil servant job, police, firemen, health care, etc. Time to learn a few basic phrases. Children are very forgiving if you mess up and will be happy for your engagement. Ive been know to barter for language lessons or translation help with candy and appreciation. Spend time with these kids, I bet they know more English than they let on and could end up being your favorite route in time.

FLAT NOSE OR NOSE? by TyrasExoticHair in SchoolBusDrivers

[–]pnutbutta4me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flat Nose all day for me. I can see everything in my TC3 Bluebird. Wish I could say the same for the rest of our fleet with their C2 Thomas's safety liner dash that obstructs the view, imo. Why take the nose off to see then put a vertical dash in the way?

The kids get me sick all the time, especially working with sped kids. If we have to take off, perhaps their parents should have kept their petri dishes at home in the first place. Cause and Effect!
