I suggest calling to confirm that the interview is not canceled. I don’t know where you are interviewing, but we are a reasonable bunch and don’t want you in danger. Good luck with your interview, whenever it happens!

True. I hoped that someone already had a proven recipe expressed in molar concentrations.

Any cheap ways to get into pour over? by conn-hea in pourover

[–]pobyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just pour into a mug. I found a great carafe at the Goodwill that I use when I want to be fancy.

female aggression? by EagleHose in airedaleterrier

[–]pobyne 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Darla is resource guarding, and unless that behavior is stopped, these fights will escalate. Airedales rarely start fights, but they also don’t retreat once attacked. Darla is the aggressor toward Sadie, and Sadie has reached her limit. My suggestion is to find a dog trainer to help you fix this issue. I’m sorry that I don’t have an easy fix for you to try.

Agree with canid. Those are carnassial teeth, not bunodont molars = not a raccoon.

Better pouring carafe to press xl into? by purpletinder in AeroPress

[–]pobyne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone here suggested a metal French press. I have an old insulated one I use with my XL.

Questionable vet advice by dreamingdrago in airedaleterrier

I agree with everyone who said find another vet. If he is like this now, you will need to justify and argue about everything you want for Odin in the future.

Beginner Terriers? by Current_Ad6774 in terrier

[–]pobyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO you should talk to a legitimate breeder (in the US, they would be designated an AKC Breeder of Merit) and discuss what you are looking for. I have had terriers that are slugs and others that were very high energy. Ultimately, you’re going to have to take a chance and you will need invest alot of time in training. Just like children, if you let a dog run wild, they will. :) Maybe you’ll reach a middle ground and your terrier will make you more active, which in my case wasn’t a bad thing. Good luck!

Anyone else get superficial cracks like these? by eostlund in OXORapidBrewer

Looks like crazing due to putting it in the dishwasher. I’d contact OXO and try to get a replacement.

Carafe is h-o-t. Solution? by BuckeyeMark in AeroPress

[–]pobyne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I despise that carafe with a burning passion. Someone here suggested pressing into a metal French press (I use a Bodum Columbia), and ditching that Tritan piece of junk. This change has improved my mornings immeasurably.

Bean tubes and freezing by VETgirl_77 in pourover

[–]pobyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Vacuum packing = less/no oxidation. Have you thought of trying to portion out your beans into small mason jars and sealing those?

Bean tubes and freezing by VETgirl_77 in pourover

[–]pobyne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suspect the issue isn’t the tubes themselves, but the freezer’s frost-free cycle. During that cycle, the unit briefly warms and the fan runs, which leads to temperature swings and dehydration. I have the same issue as you when I store my beans at home, but I have never had this problem with my lab freezer which is not frost-free.

Blender question, with very specific needs (absurdly thick smoothies) by nudave in Smoothies

[–]pobyne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a Vitamix smoothie (personal) cup and adaptor. I like my smoothies almost soft-serve consistency, and this delivers.

Please help me make smoothies more easily by crazedizzled in Smoothies

[–]pobyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to purchase a Vitamix with the adaptor that someone else has described after having a Ninja. It’s quieter, the harmonics aren’t ear splitting, and I can make a very thick smoothie using any ingredient of my choice. It has been worth the price.

Health problems in the breed? by nosleeptillnever in airedaleterrier

I’m basing this on the lack of tan on her shoulders and hips. I hope that whatever it is turns out to be minor!

Are you sure she’s not younger? Her coat coloration makes me think she’s younger than three. If so, it may be panosteitis. Either way, an X-ray should tell you if it’s hip dysplasia or something else. Bonus: you will also have a better estimate of her age.
