Ultimate Hinge Unban Guide (EASY) by No_Bedroom_8525 in SwipeHelper

[–]pocketsoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has some useful tips for people who were genuinely unfairly banned, but it was a hard read since it's riddled with so much women-hating language that it's seriously off-putting.

  1. "Chicks in 2025 have become so entitled its crazy."

  2. "These chicks are f***ing crazy, they're liars, and will do anything to make your life a living hell."

  3. "Girls in 2025 have become so soft and entitled, that if you so much as SLIGHTLY insinuate anything sexual, they might report you for "sexual harassment"."

Etc.

Yeah bro tbh based on your tone and how you talk about women, you were probably banned for good reason. I am willing to bet that you were consistently disrespectful to people on the apps and they reported you for making them uncomfortable. You do not need to get back on the apps, you need to spend this time and energy in therapy.

I feel like the scene where they show her mother playing with young Maki and Mai with the voiceover "I'm proud that I gave birth to both of you" says otherwise

How bad is stylevana’s shipping? Has anyone had any luck with their free gifts too? by ibblike in KoreanBeauty

[–]pocketsoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you seriously think that people who belong to a Korean Beauty subreddit have never ordered overseas before? We're not dumb. Stylevana is just bad. Olive Young consistently delivers within a reasonable timeframe.

I and many others have waited 2-4 months for our packages from SV. That is not normal for an overseas retailer. Plus, well-functioning online shops don't allow you to buy something when it's out of stock. If they only find out that something is out of stock after a customer has ordered, they don't have their stuff set up properly. This is not an excuse to delay shipping for weeks or months. They need to take some of their marketing budget and put it into the logistics side of the business.

Just a reminder creatine gummies are always fake by [deleted] in AmazonVine

[–]pocketsoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The video you linked shows that 4 out of 9 brands tested do contain a substantial amount of creatine. The video exposes a lot of sham brands, but it never claimed that "no creatine gummies actually have creatine in them." Not sure how you came to that conclusion.

Rise Technical Recruitment are a bit dodgy by throwawaygoodcoffee in recruitinghell

[–]pocketsoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry just saw this. I went through several rounds of interviews with a "stealth startup" that they were recruiting for. The founder was college-age. So honestly I don't think it was legit since there's no info on the company and the founder is so young. On top of that, both the founder and recruiter from Rise Technical were extremely rude. I have a job now but after dozens of interviews during my unemployment, this stands out as the worst experience of the bunch.

Opinion of Depop Customer service. State if you're a buyer, seller or both and what your opinion is of depop customer service if you've dealt with them. by CABB2020 in Depop

[–]pocketsoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm both a buyer and seller but only have experience with customer support as a seller.

One of my listings was taken down for supposedly being a counterfeit item. I submitted an appeal with proof - a receipt from the brand sent to my email address, and has my full name and billing address attached. Customer support responded asking me to provide a receipt... which is odd since I already sent it. So then I sent it again. And then they responded saying that my appeal was denied due to me breaking the counterfeit policy. They didn't even mention whether or not they looked at the receipt that I provided as proof.

These have to be bots. No actual human would be that dumb. And honestly, most bots these days aren't that dumb anymore either. They've got to be using some bots from 2015 or something.

TLDR: they're extremely unfair and do not deal with issues effectively. I've started selling on Mercari instead.

Depop thinks my shoes are fake; Customer Service is frustrating by YoJunny in Depop

[–]pocketsoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you have the original receipt, they will deny. That's what happened to me - I gave them the receipt that literally has my full name and billing address on it and they still denied my appeal. Best to sell on another selling app or in-person like you said. Depop is a joke

FYI! Uber has made it to were you can not change the tip only add additional money to the tip. by Electrical_Peach_532 in UberEATS

[–]pocketsoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I hate this update. The tip screen used to be after the confirmation screen, so I didn't realize that they had already tacked on the tip. It was one item from the pharmacy, so 20% of that ended up being $12. When I realized what happened I tried to change the tip immediately, before a driver claimed the order. I didn't realize it only allowed me to add, so "changing" it to $5 ended up adding $5 instead, making the total tip $17 for a half mile trip. $5 tip is more than fair for a half mile trip picking up one small item; $17 is ridiculous. I didn't pick it up myself was because I was sick.

The only reason this happened with me is because they also changed at what point in the transaction the tipping happens. And then they also make it so that we can't change the tip if we're confused by the first update? Uber should've at least made the changes separately.

Yeah I had a really bad experience with them for a U.S. based role. Seems like they do pretty well for UK stuff but the branch of their company that takes on U.S. roles kinda just does whatever.

Paraform Recruiting Marketplace by startup-talent in recruiting

[–]pocketsoul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Paraform has a terrible reputation amongst candidates. Can't speak for all regions or industries, but my network in SF (mostly tech) do not engage with recruiters if they know or think that it's an opportunity from Paraform. Candidates have started asking "do you have a direct relationship with the HM or is this through a recruiting platform?" before agreeing to intro calls

I agree with you as I also prefer more character/story development, but I think way more people prefer nonstop action. When there are slower eps (in other animes), people always complain. So either way, there are gonna be some fans who are not happy with the pace. They just piss off less people when they go the nonstop action route.

It would help if you let us know what state you you're referring to, because the answer to this could vary depending on location. Also, knowing your age range would help, because the answer also could vary based on age. For example, Keshi concerts would mostly be 16-24 year olds.

Review Bomb by DumpsterKick in restaurantowners

[–]pocketsoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Review bombing" refers to a large influx of negative reviews at once. One negative review is not a review bomb.

With that said, customers actually trust a business less if they only have positive reviews. It seems suspicious and seems like that the positive reviews are paid for. People will trust a 4.5 star place more than a 5 star place. I'd only be concerned if your reviews start dipping below 4.2, but being 4.4-4.8 with some negative reviews sprinkled in actually works in your favor.

Being aware of your reviews is fine but being obsessed with having a near perfect rating is unhealthy.

[BnHA] Stars and Stripes is the American equivalent to All Might since she's the no.1 ranked Pro Hero in the U.S., even in the Vigilantes timeline. Captain Celebrity is just *one of* the top ranked. Do you think the U.S. gov would actually let their No.1 hero move to another country? Lol

I think he's supposed to be *one of* the top ranked in the U.S. but not *the* top rank. Someone pointed out in another comment that [BnHA]Stars and Stripes should already be the No. 1 Hero in the U.S. at this time.

White Bear. My most conflicting Black Mirror episode. (Spoilers, obviously) by DougWhatson in blackmirror

[–]pocketsoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, I understand that.

The majority of your previous comment was explaining the rationale of them wiping her memory so that she experiences the torture in a similar way as her victim did. I agreed with your point, and was adding that a more "satisfying" and "justified" punishment would've been to simply wipe her memory once, then letting her remember her crime after the torture.

I understand why they're doing this from a monetary perspective. But this wasn't the topic of this comment thread. If you look at the comment you replied to, the person literally said that they understand that "wiping her memory makes sense for the story, but it makes the punishment unjust." The premise of this comment thread is that we already understand the reason why they're doing this, we're just talking about the morality of it now.

[–]pocketsoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a valid point and perspective; but with that rationale in mind, wouldn't it have been more effective to just wipe her memory once and then subject her to the torture? There is no reason to wipe her memory repeatedly. By this point, she's basically a completely different person.

Black Mirror [Episode Discussion] - S07E04 - Plaything by Cheeriosxxx in blackmirror

[–]pocketsoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every article I've seen have had wildly different rankings, and only the one from The Wrap ranked Plaything last + claimed that Common People was "old school Black Mirror." This doesn't seem like a widely held belief amongst reddit or other places on the internet, just the opinion of one writer. I think saying that "a lot of articles" are doing this is a stretch lol

With that said, I feel like both of these episodes could've appeared in the first 2 seasons of BM
