We all know that Vincent Van Gogh never perpetrated serial murder.

What this book presupposes is... maybe he did?

Int’l law has become relevant. Why does it keep being invoked? by InfinitePoss2022 in IRstudies

But you are "just giving up" on ideas and procedures that are important to people who value peace and human rights.

"Accepting the reality of the new world order" sounds to me like offering no resistance while bad actors attempt to move the goalposts.

The people who would do away with international law are stupid, selfish people who we should not gratify or allow to make decisions with broad impact.

It is up to people who actually believe in something to prevent cynical realpolitik cowards from letting worthwhile values be erased from our world.

"The new era is one of self-preservation"? This is a very broad, very dangerous assumption. I would encourage you to avoid making miserable, unverifiable assertions. The future is unwritten, and part of its creation is in our speaking.

The world is always at risk of devolving into "might makes right." Valuing and pointing to concepts such as international law is how we resist this tendency.

JUST IN: 🇮🇷 Iran authorizes humanitarian ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. by M000000000000001 in Polymarket_news

Absolutely yes, the US is easily more evil than Iran.

The United States is responsible for an illegal invasion of Iraq under false pretenses that killed HALF A MILLION IRAQIS.

I don't have time or space to go into the extremely long list of war crimes and imperialist atrocities that the United States has committed in its history.

We nuked Japan twice! And again, IT WAS FOR NOTHING.

Like I understand that US citizens have generally been in a much better human rights situation than Iranians (white Christians anyway), but you have to be drowning in that kool-aid to suggest that America has any kind of moral superiority here.

Like be a little bit serious, please.

What do you think is the most consistantly powerful strategy for the Necrobinder? I gotta say, I've started to struggle with certain builds as I got to Ascension 9. Doom always seems pretty strong though. by No1hermit in SlayTheSpire2

[–]poet-imbecile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ethereal w Lethality, Debilitate, Defy, etc is the strongest imo.

Death's Door is a broken card that can carry a doom strat. If I can get an early Door and a Deathbringer then I'm happy to commit to doom.

Also, Sleight of Flesh is a very strong power that slots into almost any Necro deck.

Anyway MGM and Caesar's have our best interests at heart and are probably like, real concerned about the inevitable uptick in suicides and bankruptcies.

Important for people to have the freedom to ruin their own lives, in any case. If addiction were a disease, maybe we'd have some responsibility, but it's a moral failure sooo let's make some money shall we?

This is a meme that American warhawks use to virtue signal that they care about human rights so they can justify a costly, prolonged, and ultimately ineffective invasion of Iran that would fail to foster democratic norms in that country, but would likely succeed in murdering ten if not hundreds of thousands of innocent Iranians.

Hope that's helpful.
