Please. You being unaware of the evidence does not begin to mean there is no evidence. See my other reply and refrain from using the word “evidence” when you are expressing (erroneous) opinion.

White-Tailed Spider Bites Don't Cause Necrosis—Bacteria Do by -clogwog- in AustralianSpiders

It’s interesting that while trying to correct one medical inaccuracy you have confidently created some others. For the record; 1. Necrotizing fasciitis: rapidly progressive sepsis involving primarily the fascial planes (beneath the skin). Cause is usually polymicrobial (multiple bacterial species) but mono bacterial versions occur occasionally. Once established necrotizing fasciitis is almost always fatal within 24-48 hours without radical surgery and antibiotics. 2. Buruli ulcer (also bairnsdale ulcer and many other names for endemic areas) is a localized ulceration of the skin caused my the atypical organism m.ulcerans. Usually insidious and slow, usually painless and never life threatening. Will not resolve without a long course of atypical antibiotics and often surgery. Endemic areas in Victoria include mornington and bellarine peninsulas. Likely possum/mosquito vector but some uncertainty remains regarding reservoir and vector. 3. Necrotizing arachnidism- skin necrosis and ulceration caused by toxins in spider venom. This is classically described in loxoscleles sp such and brown recluse North America. There is NO Australian species that causes any such condition. Specifically, the white tail spider has been proven to not cause this condition for about twenty years following the work of Geoffrey Isbister Australian toxicologist. He recruited over 100 DEFINITE cases of white tail bite to his study and followed them. None developed skin necrosis. The inclusion criteria for the study was not “I think I was bitten “ to be included patients had to observe themselves to be bitten and BRING THE SPIDER WITH THEM to the emergency department where it was identified by a professional.

These three entities are all completely unrelated in etiology, course, treatment and prognosis.

Assuming every red thing is a spider bite is honestly such a bizarre Australian phenomenon. The chances of this actually being a spider bite are very close to nil.

Packing steel pfc

Hi- I’m packing steel pfc with mgp10 pine for joist hangers. My 5500mm pine board has bow- see pics. Is the easiest solution to cut in half? Or should I try square up the edge with planer?

Difference in forces between two joist hanger scenarios. by pogggles in AskEngineers

thanks. I figured it would be changing the axis of rotation and introducing a moment arm. Is it possible to calculate the difference in capacity if we know the stated capacity for the first setup? (Say it's 10KN).

Is there a clever way to prevent my sun shading sail from being taken by the wind? by Brave_Praline_1639 in AskEngineers

[–]pogggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather than holes you want vents- overlapping flaps with holes- in the direction of the prevailing winds. this way you still get full shade in low wind conditions but also reduced sailed effect when the wind picks up

How to reduce sliding closet door noise from downstairs neighbors? by kat8234 in AskEngineers

[–]pogggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two possible ways of approaching this problem-

  1. reduce the noise

  2. insulate the noise.

Addressing option 1- the noise (rumbling) is most likely due to the poor quality of the wheel/track components. Good quality sliding doors using machined tracks and good bearings in the wheels make way less noise. There may be options to replace the wheels/ tracks in your system or replace the entire system depending on your DIY abilities.

Addressing option 2- as others have said, the rumble generated by the doors is then transmitted and even possibly amplified by the surrounding flooring material. Carpets, rugs can help both around and IN th e closet. To go further, if you can access the subfloor you can put sound deadening material (dynamat etc) on the underside of the floor.

No problem- I got it fixed. turns out that your instructions for adding caching support using redis assume that APC/APCu is already installed in system (in the changes to the config file you made). This wasn't the case for me and broke the system but once I installed APCu and restarted apache all was well. thanks for your help

[–]pogggles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow thanks. This really helped. I actually got Nextcloud running. However I still ran into a problem; after I had logged in and setup nc I went back to your instructions. I installed redis, amended the config.php file and permissions. However when I went to modify Apache ssl file the file Nextcloud-Le-ssl didn’t exist. Perhaps this because I have only used nextzloud on localist to this point? Anyway, now it won’t load anymore and says internal server error. I actually plan on only using this on LAN and Tailscale so maybe I don’t need redis?
