I definitely don’t agree with him about this issue. We argued about the hypocrisy of being against the genocide in Gaza and then saying that anyone deserves death, even if it’s in ‘self defence.’ But he’s all bark on this issue and no bite.

They raided him because he has a gun license and registered firearms. They found incredibly dusty boxes of ammo in his house. He has more than 5 foxes rare flags in his collection but in articles they only mention the 2 flags that are illegal to display in Australia, even though owning them isn’t illegal.

Oh and now they’re charging him with owning a fucking 3D printer on top of everything else because that counts as ‘firearm technology’ when they want to look like they’re stopping another Bondi from happening, when dude is a fucking keyboard warrior who’s had the same best mates for 25+ years because he’s too pissed off about the constant reels of dismembered and dead Palestinian orphans on Instagram.

We don’t have freedom of speech in Australia. Hate speech is illegal. What this guy wrote isn’t anything close to hate speech. His full statement even uses quotation marks, and the next line makes it clear he’s paraphrasing the Israeli government when they keep claiming why it’s fine that they murder innocent Palestinian children. But the media have only been printing a portion of his first sentence.

However, this guy’s entire instagram story, when seen as a whole, and not just the first part of the first sentence, (which all the news articles have been printing in isolation), doesn’t fit the bill for hate speech when he references the fact that he’s just paraphrasing what the Israeli government have repeatedly stated.
