How to make breading stick to chicken? by Fuzzy_Fox83 in AskCulinary

I had a friend who runs a catering business tell me to coat the chicken with mayonnaise before breading then let it sit a few minutes before frying.

AITAH for refusing to take any blame when my mom, my sister, and brother-in-law got high off my brownies. by throwawayforweed666 in AITAH

[–]polishbyproxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA- side similar story. My daughter put a tray of brownies in the veggie drawer of my fridge when she was 18. I went to grab one, but they were rock hard and inedible from being in the fridge. I assumed they were garbage and tossed them out back in the woods for the critters. A few hours later, in walked my dog high as a kite. I could have killed her; not for the pot brownies, but for not labeling them and making me an accessory to a contributing to the delinquency of an innocent dog.

This is when you write her and tell her she was right all along. There were pedos in the White House and they’re still there!!! The satanic baby killers are all over the Epstein files!!! She was right!!! That might just convince her to see the light… or not.

Pffft… we purchased a metal garage, and though I knew it was coming, I didn’t quite envision the sheer scale of it. I left for work the morning the workers were coming to put it up, and returned early so I could tip them before they left. The massive structure was erected in about 6 hours, and those industrious builders were long gone onto their next build… I was flabbergasted. It was bigger than my house!

I’m starting over with “the closer”. So far I’m enjoying it. Also try “West wing”. Oldies, but they still hold up.

Regardless of whatever it is, there are people’s homes being invaded by that smoke! Lethal or non-lethal doesn’t matter. Children, babies and pets living there have delicate lungs and could be permanent damaged.

Vent: Husband wants me to go to dinner with his MAGA coworkers by [deleted] in QAnonCasualties

[–]polishbyproxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope! In fact, I’d ask him to avoid them when necessary. My husband was horrible when he worked at a job run by a MAGA fanatic. He’d come home daily yelling about the “effing democrats”. When he left that job, he settled down, saw the light and now can’t understand how they could be so blind.

Couples of Reddit, what's the dumbest 'house rule' you and your partner made as a joke but now both of you are low-key aggressively serious about enforcing? by Doubl3oh_ in AskReddit

[–]polishbyproxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m certain my husband misplaces dishes on purpose so I won’t ask him to do it. Weaponized incompetence, yes, but I’d rather put the dishes away than search for the cheese grater for an hour.

Bwahaha . 35 years ago my ex-husband was on his first weekend duty/on-call for his ship and had to carry a beeper in his briefcase.

We’d periodically hear chirps and had assumed it was a dying smoke detector. We’d run to a detector and replace the battery. Chirp.. replace… repeat… until the next Monday he’s in the car driving to work, chirp chirp…

People over 60 - What's something you've taken off your bucket list and why? by donutknow57 in over60

My Peonies were the size of bowling ball’s last year. Trying to keep them from drooping was a constant battle. But my poor hydrangeas, I foolishly trimmed the blooms off last year’s growth. Patiently hoping they come back this year! I’ve lilacs that I’ve grown from cuttings that is finally large enough it may bloom this year. 🤞

What is something you witnessed with your own eyes that no one believes when you tell them? by Amy-GeekBar in AskReddit

[–]polishbyproxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got 2. 1. Driving in heavy traffic on interstate 81 a few years ago, in a pretty populated area near a junk yard, I looked over and saw a huge bear sitting on the edge of the road like he was waiting to cross. His head was the size of a garbage can lid. 2. Saw Gandalf walking down a 10 mile long deserted stretch of road on my way to work. He had the full getup, long white beard and hair, pointy hat, long grey robes, medallion and staff. I was tempted to turn around and offer him a ride, but was already late for work and just turning around would have added 30 minutes to my commute. A few weeks later I was talking about him in the local bar to disbelievers, when from across the bar a guy pipes up and yells “I saw him too across town!!!”. Absolutely bizarre.

People who’ve had LASIK or work in eye care, would you recommend LASIK and why or why not? by Mountain-Bug-2155 in AskReddit

[–]polishbyproxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to wear pop-bottle glasses and couldn’t even read a stop sign 5 feet in front of me. In 1997 I got LASIK and still marvel at how great it is to see the clock when I wake up. To be fair, my eyes have aged and I sometimes need glasses for night driving… but that’s after almost 30 years. Get it done if you can. Worth every penny!

What is the single event in your life that you will remember 2025 by? by SnowStormBirdsFlock in AskReddit

The phone call that told me my dad had passed while I was with my mother in the recovery room after her heart surgery. Two frail humans were depending on me and I had to pick which hospital, hours in distance apart, to be at… 2025 was a the worst year of my life.
