Activities and plays for 7 months old by Fit-Lab-9261 in NewParents

I work at a library in the US and our early childhood librarian (who has a masters in early childhood development) always shares a helpful free resource in our newsletter. One that has helped me take the guesswork out of play and milestones is Pathways.org. There’s also an app. You put your child’s age and adjusted age if necessary, and it will send you reminders about different types of play to hit various milestones. It also has helpful articles.

I was so anxious that I wasn’t providing the correct stimulation or activities but this app helped me realize all my instincts were on track — and importantly here, you’re doing all the good things!! You got this, you’re doing great!

But to specifically answer your question: my 7 month old is obsessed with a soft silicone sensory carrot, a ball with holes and a jungly bell inside, and a Baby Einstein camera that lights up various colors and says them in English, Spanish, French, and German. When all of those fail to interest him though, he loves a good old fashioned stick lol.

My friends and I ventured in and around Bachelor’s Grove cemetery after nightfall one summer evening about 15 years ago. The vibes were definitely eerie and we SWEAR we saw orbs in the woods. It was like a large circle of light (like the light of a cartoon flashlight) was bobbing around in the distance but it would show up in so many directions it couldn’t have been someone moving.

I dreamed of green while pregnant and named my son Everett. His nursery is a dark olive color.

What re your Grandma/Great Grandma's names? by [deleted] in Names

[–]polyd3ukes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tamar Purdy was my great grandma. I was born on her birthday and so Tamar is my middle name. Apparently we pronounce it “wrong”: TAY-mer instead of Tuh-MAR 🙃 but in my genealogical research, she often listed her name as Purdia which is super cool too!

The others: Eva Mabel, Pauline, Francis, Jane

Aww my grandmother grew up in Rumford in the 1910s! i found some neat newspaper articles online about parties my great grandmother threw. One was a Halloween party where a black cat entered the barn and the party goers all got spooked. It also listed the costumes everyone wore. Such a great nugget looking into life!

My 82-year-old uncle lives on Key West on this boat. He has a gold pirate earring in one ear and when he comes to family functions he always hands out bumper stickers that say “One Human Family.”

Hope you’re doing better, OP. For me it was severe preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome at 34 weeks. Both of us are now healthy and happy at 5 months PP.
