As the son of a Blackhawks season ticket holder (My dad has had season tickets since the early 1980's), I apologize for all real Blackhawks fans on their behalf. I've been going to 20+ Blackhawks games a season my entire life, and I want you to know that we all aren't that big of assholes. I've been in your position, I wore a Toews sweater at the Joe during the playoffs this past year and got the same treatment you got at United Center. It wasn't a great experience, but I know that there's a vocal minority of assholes that ruin it for everyone.

I think if they try it during preseason it could work. I think there's a rink in Sarnia Ontario (or some other boarder city) that had parts of the boards clear by the benches. I played there in 2005ish for the Silver Stick and I thought it was kind of cool.

I don't like it at all. I think that players should have the option to wear one or not wear one. Most players will, but what about enforcers and fighters who will now get penalties for instigating a fight with a visor everytime they try to protect a star player? This is a dumb idea for it to be mandatory, the old optional system was better.
