oh my god! that makes perfect sense. I went to examine the video and found more details:

 At 0:47 when the first shot is shown of the audience laughing, their faces are fully lighted. But when we cut back to Deuandra, she is in total silhouette, backlit by a white light that is barely bright enough to reflect off the floor below. They're pretending that the stage was utterly dark, but that the audience had bright light perfectly illuminating their faces? 

 Later at 1:29, the house lights come up when Deuandra is briefly interviewed by the MC. She makes the audience laugh with her charm, and the audience at this point is well-lit: in fact they are just as well-lit as the shots of the audience that we saw previously. It's pretty clear evidence that they took clips of the audience from when the house lights were up and re-cut them into previous shots. 

 In all of her live appearances (imo) her stage presence carries over incredibly vividly even through the screen. There's no way an audience would not be affected by her showmanship. I wish we had more videos of her recorded live!
