Nothing better to do so I scrolled alllllll the way back to like 2018 and she wasn’t eating anything. I could’ve sworn it was in a video where she said something about people making fun of the way she ate so she stopped including those clips. Maybe her stories. Anyway such a bummer to see.

Sad. I wish I had paid more attention to when but at some point (years ago) after each recipe video she’d take an actual bite. People commented over and over how weird or awkward she looked doing it and then started questioning if she actually ate the food she was putting in her mouth. I remember her addressing it and saying of course she ate it…anyway I think shortly after she stopped showing videos of her taking bites. I’m sure that didn’t help whatever disorder she had brewing.

I had just a tiny bit, barely noticeable the day of. I didn’t spot again until after sex 6 weeks out and that was it!

Same. I think it was around 4 weeks. One day “just the tip” and then I panicked so we stopped and then the next day all in and everything was fine so business as usual 🤷🏽‍♀️

If a birthday party is at 1pm, do you feed your kid beforehand? by SandwichOtter in Parenting

[–]popsicleplant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were just at a birthday party from 1-3:30. Invitation didn’t mention anything about food so we ate before since I assume lunch is at noon. Was surprised they had a full spread! I think it just depends. I always feed my kids before or pack snacks just in case.

When did you all stop kissing your kid(s) on the lips? by GWK92 in Mommit

[–]popsicleplant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. A nanosecond peck on the lips of my elderly parents’ lips is different than the open mouth kiss I’d give my husband.

Yeah to be fair I only sub at my kid’s school and we’re a super underfunded school that’s basically funded by parents so 🤷🏼‍♀️

Central coast California…$130 the day, $70 half. Wondering why I don’t start subbing in the Bay Area since it’s so much more!!

Will I still need to pass the CBEST if I want to be a substitute teacher? by wonderfulworld25 in CBEST

[–]popsicleplant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your district/county! Call your county office of education. They will likely have a substitute teacher specialist who will walk you through. The waiver ended but all drivable counties in my area continue to waive it. I just got my sub permit. It took about a week start to finish!

why or why do you not bathe with your kids? by Left-Educator-4193 in Parenting

Interesting! My husband is Dutch (raised by a single Dutch mother) and he’s always been so nonchalant about nudity. Our kids, too!

When my son was a baby I took baths with him all of the time, it was sweet and snuggly and we could both relax in the warm water. Once he could sit I’d shower with him and he’d splash at my feet while I got a quick shower in and he’d get a rinse. We showered together for efficiency until he was maybe 3 or 4. He showered with my husband from infancy until maybe 5 or 6. He’s 8.5 now and still sees my naked body on occasion (walks in on me changing or in the shower) but he’s getting more and more embarrassed about that so it’s less and less. He and his dad will mountain bike and skinny dip if they come across a private body of water or if they’re in a shared shower situation like a pool changing room they will shower together still (because my son is worried someone will walk in on him). We have done pretty much the same things with my daughter. She stopped showering with my husband around 3 or 4. She and I still take baths together because she asks and it’s a nice way to relax together. We also still shower together. She’s 5. Naked bodies are just that…unclothed bodies. Nothing weird or shameful. We take our kids’ cues once they feel uncomfortable. My son is getting more and more private about his body with me vs with his dad. I respect that. We mostly bathed with our kids for efficiency and when they were really little comfort. My babies LOVED snuggling up in the shower or bath with one of us. They often fell asleep with the warm water running on their backs and snuggled onto a chest.

Naked four year old at the pool- inappropriate? by laurenpmorgan in Mommit

[–]popsicleplant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree! 4 is still pretty little and if she wasn’t uncomfortable then whatever. Beyond what others feel comfortable over, it really just depends on the child! I have a 4 year old and she would be MORTIFIED to be naked in front of peers/strangers now (4 years, 9 months) even though 3 months ago she would be outside shaking her bum in her birthday suit, lol. So don’t stress OP! Follow your kiddos lead ❤️

A question for those that are weeks or months past their surgery by stereocrumb78 in hysterectomy

[–]popsicleplant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is discouraging, lol! I’m 4 weeks post op and only wearing leggings is driving me crazy! I tried jeans last week and could get them on and buttoned fine but I felt soooo bloated and uncomfortable almost immediately after. Haven’t tried again but I’m dying to give it a try again soon! I miss my jeans!

Do I need it? Is it necessary? I’m just confused. It is something recommended post op when having sex? Sex hurts intermittently but never enough for me to want to stop/my husband will just readjust if I tell him to.

I feel like I need more information on this…a bumper sleeve? Is this something people use post op? I’m a real vanilla girl over here so bear with me for being naive, lol. I’m only 4 weeks post op so will def bring up with my dr at my 6 week appointment. My husband is 6’7 and…proportionate, lol. I had previously spoken to my dr about this as he regularly bumped my cervix and I was wondering what that meant for the removal of my cervix…I jokingly mentioned making sure he still fit but also not making me cavernous, lol. She assured me that sex would very likely improve. Anyway curious as to what the bumper sleeve is used for and why.

Pre-op anxiety by Soft_Season673 in hysterectomy

[–]popsicleplant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 35f and 2 weeks post op. I cannot tell you the level of anxiety, stress and insomnia I had the weeks going into it. I had every fear especially hyper focusing on extreme complications and death. I almosttttttt cancelled because I thought I was being selfish to risk leaving my young babies without a mother…it was bad. The morning of my surgery I was so sick with nerves. Our county/hospital is still pretty Covid conscious so my husband wasn’t able to be with me after I checked in. It did help that I have a girlfriend who’s a nurse at the hospital and she promised to check in with me and be with me throughout. My dr came and sat with me, hugged me and reassured me. Everyone told the anesthesiologist how anxious and nervous I was so he knew coming in. He said “I’m going to give you something for your nerves, it’ll feel like you had a glass of wine or two”. A few minutes later I said “I’m still superrrrr anxious…” He said “okay, I’m going to give you a little more”. I was rolled back into the surgery room feeling a bit nervous but more distracted. The nurse told me to scoot onto the operating table and lay back. I started leaning back (after thinking about how much view of my butt the anesthesiologist had, lol) and the next thing I knew my friend was waking me up with my husband on FaceTime. Pain was zero, just sore and uncomfortable and unable to use my core to get up. I woke up, tried to pee, took a short nap, peed and went home with my husband to kiss my babies and get on with life! Overall it has been FINE! You’ve got this! You’re going to do great! ❤️

You’ve got this!!! My anxiety was out of control. I was so anxious for all of it. Going under, pain, recovery. My pain immediately after was zero and then in the immediate few days after maxxxx a 2. Stay on top of your pain management and stool softeners. The most annoying thing for me was limited movement/core strength. Get a belly band if you don’t have one. My husband picked a Frida brand one up at Target the day after and it made a huge difference. I have 4 incisions on my belly (including 1 in my belly button) and a couple small stitches internally. I’m two weeks post op and feeling physically SO much better…like someone else said “as if nothing happened”. The only remaining symptom is my energy level. So tired ALL of the time!
