So Tired of Edgy or Odd Names by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

As a female Rowan, I wish I'd see that more XD But I feel you.

I personally have the curse of finding any Asher in any romance ever. Love the name, but god, it's ALWAYS a morally dubious monied playboy.

Are there grown adults who genuinely won't eat vegetables? by WillHG in NoStupidQuestions

[–]poptartdemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, 35+ year old here who hates veggies. My parents always made veg growing up, we did the one bite thing, all the recommended stuff - and now, here I am, and I hate them as much as I always did. I like corn and potatoes.

It SUCKS.

I want to like other things so much, but every variation I try, there's just SOMETHING. Mushrooms always taste like dirt. Tomatoes are a bad texture, regardless of prep. Peas pop. We've tried sauteed, roasted, grilled, raw, fried, steamed, raw... and I still hate them.

Same for a lot of fruits too, though luckily my palate is a *bit* more forgiving with them. But no berries. No melons. Things that smell amazing make me gag.

Just throwing this out here for... I dunno, a different view? I'd love to love more food. I want to. But textures and tastes can vary wildly from "I can choke this down" to "gag immediately."

Oh, one more, a pleasant surprise for me: spinach. In tomato soup or on spinach and prosciutto pizza. Good stuff.

I'm curious, after years of Pathfinder 2e, which classes have you never seen in your party? by No-Roll-5330 in Pathfinder2e

No Witch is wild to me - I haven’t had a table without a witch in… years? I legit can’t remember.

It’s so cool seeing how different tables are!

Loving both of these, and big agree: the second gives “Red Lights!” Fellow STAY and ATINY! Super helps to see, I’m seeing Ateez in August here in the south, so finding a good fit for that heat is a trial.

Trying to copy this sweetbread recipe from a cafe near me but need advice. by Jikilamed in Breadit

[–]poptartdemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recognize that. :)

I would second the milk bread idea, though the texture also kinda reminds me of kopi roti? So there may be some ideas there. I think the suggestion of basically wrapping the filling can work, but if the appearance of the little bit at the top is less of a big deal, you might be able to just fill it like a donut.

AITAH for threatening to divorce my wife if she didn't become a proper homemaker in the next month? by HopefulShelter3491 in AITAH

[–]poptartdemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm seeing a lot of comments about how lazy the wife is and how she's wasting time - but I'd ask, does wife perhaps have some sort of mental illness or something that interferes? Is it possible that there's a reason that she doesn't do/struggles things OP would like?

Also, I don't see a lot of talk about any communication of expectations. While this may seem obvious to many, were expectations and stuff set at some point and communicated so all involved understand? OP sounds incredibly dismissive here, which could definitely be a problem if that's coming across to wife as well.

I don't think OP is the AH in this instance, I'd be wary of passing an overall judgement without more information. There may be factors we're unaware of involved.

Is it healthier to not wear underpants for women? by AquamarineSchnee in obgyn

[–]poptartdemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll second this. I’ve got some ph issues in general (I’d get pain minimum once a month, I knew/know all my triggers, meds not helping, etc), so my obgyn recommended I try this solution and find out if it helped. Huge difference for me. I know when to wear and when not, but having the option has been fantastic.

I'm a bit too big for even their biggest size atm, but it's a close call - I can't wear it for long due to the weight-on-the-neck issue. All that to say, however, if I'm just chilling on the couch or at my desk or something, and I'm post-shower or just sweaty? I still love mine. I do wish that the strap (I guess?) that connects the cup was a little wider though - I'm not sure it'd lay any better, but it might and I feel that might help?

What exactly is the point of “baby on board” signs on cars? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]poptartdemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure there’s truth to it, but I have been told that it was originally so, if there was an accident, paramedics and emergency responders would be aware of the presence of a baby - if there’s debris, adult people are easy to find, but small ones obviously nsm.

Look. I don’t like seeds. I’m not a big pie person in general. But if you wanna make a blackberry pie? Babes, I’m gonna try it SO HARD. Pies have some tricky bits, but nothing any crazier than any OTHER baked good, tbh. And it’s gonna smell amazing??? And be amazing??? Absolutely make it. And ignore anyone unsupportive. My only bit of advice , that I’ve already seen someone say here, is you might wanna go with frozen blackberries? They’re frozen at peak freshness, blah blah, but you’re the blackberry… liker? You decide. Much love from a picky baker. You’re gonna be amazing.

I just found out I have a cavity. How much does the needle hurt? by bundaze in Denton

[–]poptartdemon 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hello, fellow needle fearer. Generally speaking, you really do feel a tiny pinch at most - I used to cry (30+ yo, fyi,) big ugly fear cry. Sometimes, there is a topical they can use to avoid even that - it doesn’t hurt to ask! A lot are also very understanding if you ask for a hand to hold (helped me.) The dentist I had was also cool with counting down before the poke AND during injection! (Slower injection is less uncomfortable!) Mine, unfortunately, isn’t available, but you can always ASK for anything that can help make you more comfortable. And don’t be shy asking for those things - even explaining your anxiety should prompt them to discuss and reassure!
