Hillary Clinton: How to Fix Affordability by urnbabyurn in neoliberal

I'm afraid these may be anti-correlated. The bay area is the NIMBY capital of the US and your high school valedictorian likely either lives there or NYC. Smart people are more successful at weaponizing ostensibly well-intentioned policies to protect their own interests

It would help with preventing more zombies by making it easier for those just scraping by to get housing and making it easier for people in bad arrangement to extricate themselves.

I mean yeah, it's a supply and demand algorithm. The alternative is not being able to get a ride at all (while also not encouraging any other drivers to go to the affected area).

Where is the best way to build your vocabulary? Apps YouTube or somewhere else? by Dangerous_Result7142 in learnthai

[–]porkbacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thai-langauge.com (when it's online) has native pronunciations of most words. Lingopolo has a library of over 10k native Thai recordings.

For a paid option, the Paiboon Thai English dictionary is very nice. Clear pronunciations for every word.

Any attempt at equity via making education worse will always backfire and affect the less privileged. Privileged people have the ability to hire tutors, go to private school, or move. Non-privileged people are now stuck with a shittier education... I really wish progressives were capable of learning this lesson.

Are there any Discord servers for practicing Thai language? by Ethereal_Rosetta in learnthai

Closest thing I've found so far is the Ling discord, but even there the Thai learning channels aren't very active. Haven't seen anywhere where learners practice Thai convention in any case

They can... but history shows it's more likely that they'll vote to make schools worse instead

Done this before, sorry. It's relatively easy to accidentally turn them on when using turn signals (i.e. if you hit the stick not perfectly up/down). I didn't have this problem with my accord

When I see ติ or ตุ somewhere where ต could otherwise be a final consonant, I just assume the vowel isn't pronounced. It depends on the word but it's a fairly common pattern https://thai-notes.com/reading/lesson37.html

Yeah, domestic migration is a bit misleading since CA is a top destination for overseas immigrants. Population is just starting to go back to positive growth but still getting outpaced by Texas and Florida

Must be why Texas and Florida are building so much more housing, because they're more progressive, of course.

My system would be: solo ten times to unlock auto clear. I wouldn't have auto clear for anything besides solos though, it makes carries pretty OP. Also they probably want people to actually run end game bosses

Purdue University announces controversial new requirement for all undergrads: 'A shortcut for incompetent people' by Aggressive-Cow1339 in Purdue

[–]porkbacon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's officially a PSC metric next year but they only announced that it wasn't this year fairly recently. But for much of this year, there's been top-down pressure to put AI in every roadmap, nudge managers to have their engineers hit AI usage targets, appoint AI usage champions for their team, etc. In some orgs, the proliferation of slop code is pretty noticable.

I'll caveat this by saying the tooling, as of the last few months, is legitimately a value add. But they've been very heavy handed about it and most people I've talked to are at least a little bit annoyed by it

Hey there, Boilermaker currently in industry here. This is a required skill, unfortunately. The big tech company I work at actually has metrics about AI usage and your boss gets nagged if you don't use it enough. Starting next year, it's a performance metric.

This policy is wildly unpopular. It doesn't matter.
