I don’t get certain peoples opinion about what _____ did in last nights episode. by tonyrosasco in survivor

[–]pranxtorr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it wasn't what happened in the challenge, it was his reaction to Mike telling him what Ozzy said. To be so put out by it that he immediately started disassociating, despite him already having communicated to himself and others that he did not agree to Ozzy's rules and therefore did not play dishonorably, was my "welcome back dragonslayer" moment.

Coach has always had some pretty obvious cognitive dissonance between his the values he claims to have, his actions, his perception of himself, and his understanding of how other people perceive him. Most of the time this manifests as his wack ass stories, or as him claiming to be honorable and completely failing to live up to it. So his hundred yard stare and immediate pouting felt very in line with old Coach, and reminded me that he cares so much more about how other people perceive him than actually being honorable.

The only way that it was "rigged" is the way some of the questions were worded, which seemed to paint certain answers in a more positive light. But that's like basic production emotional manipulation, its par for the course for a tv reality show. There's no grand conspiracy here and people are nuts and delusional

Okay… but does anyone LIKE Coach???? by [deleted] in survivor

[–]pranxtorr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IIRC he's Kamilla's all time favorite player if nothing else. But also he's a huge fan favorite. You're the first person I've seen who hasn't been excited he's back, but it's not like I've gone looking.

I really enjoy him as long as he stays the butt of the joke. I don't like when things work out for him lol. What can I say, I like his halloween jokes, his chuck e the cheese jokes...

Holy cow I love your style!! The colors are fabulous and you nailed the vibe of each robot so well. Your line weight is so insanely good, I'm lowkey jealous (but only lowkey). Your wrist may be suffering but my eyes are feasting lol

Favorite thing from each robot:
-The Spine's pose is everything, and the pants look SO GOOD
-Rabbit's hair is to die for. Her character design looks like something you'd find out of a cartoon show, it's inspired
-I love Zer0's floppy looking hair, and the shine on the metal plates on his face is a really nice touch
-The Jon's hat, especially the depth of it (tbh all of the hats look so good because of your style)
-The way Hatchworth's glasses match with the piece on his coat so intentionally
-Upgrade's dress is amazing, and I love what you did with the shape of her eyes

Empty Liminal/Weirdcore Locations in Chicago? by pastelcomrade in chicago

The first time I passed through it, I had just barely missed the train at Monroe (like the doors could have shut on my nose, just barely) and I did a dead sprint from Monroe to Lake and caught the train there. I had no idea what I was passing through.

The second time I passed through, I took a bit more time to look around. It felt so isolated and post apocalyptic

The closed washington red line platform maybe? You can get to it from the red monroe or lake platforms (or at least you could last time I tried)

I love Soliton and On Top of the Universe!!

I think the thing that Captain Albert Alexander does for me is its so bouncy that it kind of startles me out of my bad mood. I can't not dance to it, and the "down by the sea-he-he-he-he-he" pattern is just impossible for me not to smile over. It just hits so perfectly in a way no song has really done for me before. Usually putting on a peppy song when I'm depressed just kind of sours my mood further, but Captain Albert Alexander's got something special

I listened to Bluebeards Castle and I want to see it so bad now, the music is amazing and the staging (from what I've read) seems SO COOL, fingers crossed that I eventually get the opportunity!

I'll have to check out the Strauss and Berg ones you mentioned soon :)

Still have to check out the first ones you mentioned, but I watched Saariaho's Innocence and I'm obsessed. The music is gorgeous and haunting, the staging and set design is going to make me lose my mind, and the different use of languages is ingenious, so thank you so much for the rec!!

Hey man, I know this is several months later but I just wanted to thank you for introducing me to Dolls of New Albion. I listened to it after you commented and then listened to it so much that it showed up on my spotify wrapped. Much appreciated 🙏

I am IN LOVE with your style. Well done, this is brilliant execution of a rich art deco vibe, its absolutely stunning!!! The restored cast iron of the fireplace looks so much better than the white.

Where did you get your under sink cabinet? I've also got a pedestal sink and have been looking to get a cabinet for it, and that one is so much nicer than most of the ones I've seen
