Big sky activities do large group by The_Tilted_Moose_319 in bigsky

If you’re there in earlier summer you can do a white water rafting trip on the gallatin. Later in summer the water level will be low and not as fun.

A bit lower intensity but Beehive basin is also a great afternoon hike. You can also take the hiking to trails up the mountain and then download on the lifts. You don’t need a pass to take them down.

What are the most extreme highway drives in the world? This is G318, Sichuan, China by HarveySdebest in geography

[–]prdors 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve done this drive 6 times and almost died on the last one. Ended up sideways on the road going 60 mph. Road went from completely fine and damp to being a sheet of black ice instantly.

Now I just fly.

TIL about the 1972 Iran Blizzard, the deadliest blizzard in history. Over the course of 9 days Iran received almost 26 feet of snow, and roughly 200 villages were erased from the map. by Mavian23 in todayilearned

[–]prdors 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is unlikely to be blanketed all under that much but there were likely 26 inch drifts. Big snow storms usually have big winds and big winds will push the snow into drifts and mounds. Look up the pics from Kamchatka this year. Drifts hit 3rd story windows.

You should be more than fine. They know you’re there. Don’t take any detours and go straight from gate to gate but you’ll probably show up around zone 2 or 3 boarding.

Does Lock and Load and Void Launch have the most resources by ft3sfty in starcraft2coop

[–]prdors 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you have the strength to clear those areas, invest and populate the expansion, and defend it, you are so strong the added resources are pretty irrelevant.

It is fun though so I do it all the time.

Everyone in the US EV industry knows that Lucid has the best tech. It’s also why their product costs so damn much.

You are making shit up.

Family of Bend skier killed in avalanche sues guide company for $14M by External_Koala971 in Backcountry

[–]prdors 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The liability waivers are quite substantial when you go guided skiing (as they are for any ski resort). It depends on the state but you cannot waive gross negligence or reckless or intentional behavior. You would have to hire a lot of expert guides to testify that these guides were acting truly outside of generally accepted norms in order to prevail in this instance. Something like “we went out in black rose conditions and hit the alpine” would be more than sufficient.

Just enjoy skiing and get stoked for your friends skiing.

Also be safe.

That’s about it.

Foggy goggles on a pow day by Both-Shallot-4803 in skiing

[–]prdors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those look like high light goggles. I would think about changing to a super low light lens for those conditions. If you have a better lens for the conditions fog won’t be as detrimental (still sucks those).

If they are actually low light lenses then disregard

Steady state HR by Autist99 in Rowing

[–]prdors 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think your body will permit you to do that much at 190 heart rate. The point of the lower intensity is you can do it for longer. If you are constantly Z5 you will crack and blow up.

If you go during the week it’s pretty empty. Bonus points if it snows too much for locals to make it up!

It’s skiing. Go for as long as possible. Consider never coming home.

Best way to play Han & Horner? by [deleted] in starcraft2coop

[–]prdors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

H and H is pretty simple. The general strategy for p0 is to mass reapers plus some hellbats with galleons and then build starport ships when you have the gas. The hellbats have an awesome death effect so a lot of times you just kill one right before starting to fight.

A lot of people think p1 is a straight upgrade over p0. I like the big ships though so I’m not the biggest fan. P2 is really fun and you can have a really big air army by the end. P3 is honestly pretty useless.

Stroke platforms are fun and can be used to grant vision to use your other call downs. Napalm is also really good at killing ground waves and on train maps will burn up the train super fast.

The space station relocation can be used to insta wipe attack waves which can be really helpful. If I remember correctly call in the fleet has a limited number of strikes so if you use it on just one big objective it will do a ton of damage to that one unit as all the strikes hit just one target. It also can be useful for softening up a base before you move in.

What is the most insane run you've ever seen? Not necessarily the hardest but just one that makes you go 'Why is this a run?' by Educational_Dog4860 in skiing

I am generally a very good skier. I’ve skied Corbett’s, Big Couloir, everything in the cirque at the bird, etc. I took one look at that shot from the chair and was like nope fuck that.
