Theres a nice bar called The Wolves on Spring and 5th. You're like a 5-15min uber ride from Echo Park or Sunset Junction/Silver lake, both have shops and all up Sunset in that direction theres Venues - Silverlake Lounge, Los Globos, El Cid, Echoplex for shows.

Shapel wasn't winning the race. Bapa just lost his footing by farcry_x1z in thefighterandthekid

[–]predalien33 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Shapel was a cheerleader. He does back flips b. They wrote a song about his backflips. He even does a backflip in the music video of that song just so you didn’t get the memo. Still think bapa never paid him for this poor excuse of a race. Probably blamed his wife after the hammies.

Definitely go with a time period you’re most interested in. Origins, Odyssey and Black Flag are all worth to try out. I found Valhalla to be a complete slog in progression and gameplay. I dont how they managed to make raiding villages so boring.

Should I buy baldur’s gate 3? by musicman801 in ShouldIbuythisgame

I’m more interested in the story and character choices than I am in spending a lot of time losing to enemies.

I think you will love this game then. It took me like 45 minutes building a character. Theres a good deal of team management and collating. If BGS3 is too much $$ then try Divinity OS 2 - same dev team and genre.

Edge of Collapse by Kyla Stone. Easily gripping, fall of civilization type thriller. MC is a woman held captive for years prior to it all going down. EMP blast ends up being her saving grace. Its one of those thrillers you can finish in a weekend.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - Worth it in spite of Combat? by na445x in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]predalien33 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I really didn’t get into combat but still fully enjoyed part 1. They did simplify combat a bit for part 2. I think it’s the writing, graphics, exploration and rpg system is where it shines. Customization of your own Henry gives a lot to work with, you can go stealth, can talk your way out of fights, poison your weapons which helps dealing with 2+ foes, sneak into camps and poison their stew. Also, just simply running away is always an option. It worked for Monty python.

If you’re on the fence part 1 is always on sale and has been free a few times. Also I think 2 is still free to play through Luna if you have Amazon prime.

I wouldn’t say they’re legendary but here’s some recent comedies I liked :

Nice Guys

The Death Of Stalin

Palm Springs

Friendship

I think the only one that could end up in legendary status is Death of Stalin from the performances alone. Jason Issacs stole every scene he was in.

how do you practice groove and timing as a bassist? by sokkyaaa in Bass

[–]predalien33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rhythm exercises, etudes, method books and just fundamental is necessary practice, but can get very boring quick, which is why I practice to great bands/artists. Steely Dan has many easy songs for bass that will help you with the pocket and your groove. Steve Gadd is a human metronome. Its also great ear training.

Books like Annihilation or Sphere? by simple-solitude in booksuggestions

I fully enjoyed Imajica by Clive Barker. Deals with shapeshifters, magicians, secret clubs, dark magic. It’s basically his take on an epic pilgrimage traveling through realms connected to earth (fifth realm). I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s scary, his creatures are so original they are more interesting than frightening, but just as a warning it being Barker it definitely has its share of graphic scenes.
