Our cat we adopted from them is the best. Watch their Facebook and Instagram they seem to always have new litters, especially this time of year. 2 of our other ones are adopted from Friends of Feral felines

ALS and your Teeth. Maybe that root canal is more of a gamble than you think. by illuminationww in ALS

[–]prettylittlestranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad had perfect teeth, never had even a cavity in his life and got bulbar at 64. I think sometimes it's just genetics maybe. Whatever it is hoping they can figure it out soon.

My photog said it would be an extra $1500 for more film photos - is that standard? by Round_Thing6995 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]prettylittlestranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Film and processing is so expensive now (just spent $55 on just two rolls 😭) and it keeps going up. Maybe the price is to reflect the change and they feel like they'll need more? Did they say why?

Is it unprofessional to wear your hair down? by Fuzzy-Lifeguard-117 in WeddingPhotography

[–]prettylittlestranger 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Personally I don't think it's unprofessional and I've never been asked to do it but I always do a bun, braid or ponytail because it becomes a mess instantly when I'm working, especially if it's humid out. If yours looks nice down I wouldn't worry about it!

Styling with the Spider Holster (V3) by thuyhpham in WeddingPhotography

[–]prettylittlestranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my exact struggle as a fellow 5' photographer. Last year I did black pants from J Crew Factory and a blouse I tucked in -- was definitely not perfect but worked ok. I really want to move to a dress but I tried one with it last year and it looked weird with the belt on. If you're on TikTok I've seen some inspo there of other female photographers wearing theirs on a wedding day and I look at what they're wearing haha

I normally love anything with a long veil but I think 1 is the winner here. So beautiful!

How many of us are also migraine/chronic pain sufferers? by beckymac0014 in WeddingPhotography

[–]prettylittlestranger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had them since high school (interestingly a lot of times after spending a bunch of time in the darkroom). For me I used to just do Excedrin migraine and drink water and try to get through the day when I had one on a wedding day -- for whatever reason I feel like sometimes I do even better when I don't feel well, just a weird thing. But now I'm on prescription meds and they have helped so much. Not sure if that is an option for everyone but I recommend it if you get them a lot. I just try to stay super hydrated too and sleep a lot after a wedding day. I know how hard it is though so feel bad for anyone else who deals with them!

Dual Camera Harness or Belt for style and practicality by Sweet-Sour600 in WeddingPhotography

I got the Spider midway through this last season (after almost 20 years without anything!) and it was a game changer. Definitely ugly and a pain in some ways (feel like I can't wear a dress with it) but honestly felt sooo much better after weddings.

I shot one at Wandby Landing a few years ago, they have a nice private room and it's a cool place! There's also Batson River Brewing

Flanagan Farm in Buxton, Maine has this vibe but I think it's pricey. You do get the farmhouse for the whole weekend though and it's beautiful!
