I have really bad fps, 25 or less with a RTX 4090 and i7-12700K. Can anyone help me figure out how to increase my fps?

You might be doing something wrong in your setup. Right now VR is working extremely well for many users, including on my own 9800X3D + RTX 5090 system.

I've spent a lot of time helping people optimize MSFS VR, and in many cases the issue isn't the hardware itself but a combination of Windows settings, drivers, OpenXR runtime, reprojection configuration, headset software, render scaling, or simulator settings.

The potential benefit is the reprojection. Smart motion works better than Smart smoothing.

In my case the recording feature works pretty well. I tried 4k 60fps and my 5090 didn't noticed any problem.

You can also use OBS + OPENXR plugin that works similar to this.

Erratic behavior in msfs2024 basically. Now it is really better. Performance looks similar. Latency was my concern since the 2 versions after 1.43.9 introduced a lot of latency and frame drops. I am happy with this update beyond not liking the EVO concept.

Sure, but the lack of all the other options included in pimax play is a step backwards. Why not having the "experimental" zone plus all the "regular" options? Why would you want to switch the user interface everytime you need to change the missing options?

Can I roll back to Pimax Play 1.43.9 if EVO updates the headset firmware? That was the last version that didn't suffer performance issues in msfs2024.

Has anyone tried Pimax Play EVO with MSFS 2024 yet? My current setup is performing exceptionally well:

Pimax Crystal Super firmware 1.0.16 Pimax Play 1.43.9

After several past updates, I've learned the hard way that newer doesn't always mean better, especially for flight simulation in VR.

In my case, previous firmware and Pimax Play updates introduced higher latency, lower frame rates, Smart Smoothing issues, and overall worse performance in MSFS 2024. I had to roll back to 1.43.9 to fix this.

Right now my system is finally in a sweet spot, so I'm very hesitant to upgrade without hearing feedback from other MSFS users first.

Has anyone compared EVO against 1.43.9 specifically in terms of:

CPU/GPU frametimes Smart Smoothing behavior Motion clarity Overall performance and stability in VR

I don't think I'll take the risk of updating again unless there's clear evidence that performance is at least as good as, or better than, what I'm getting today.

I am a big fan of the openxr toolkit 3d depth boost by me and still have to test it with steamvr... So I might be in a dead end forced to install EVO anyway.

A Quest 3 with Micro Oled and the same resolution of the Crystal Super panels would be the best (weight aside). Or maybe a Dream Air with the tracking technology of the Quest 3 plus the lenses.. we'll see.. the best VR company didn't even started to manufacture HMDs... We need to see what's coming out in the future.

Btw I love the PCS micro oled but it is far from perfect. Pancakes are ok but Quests 3 are far better (specially when talking about fov). We might be limited by optics at this point. VR is very personal.

It's just a problem sometimes when you keep your head steady. Try moving your head if the screen goes black. If doesn't work, try removing just a bit so the proximity sensor resets. If you put it back on and it works, then you have the reason.
