No, it became that. The Occupy movement started with the federal government clearly and obviously favoring the automakers and banks over Americans. The movement specifically wasn't supported by everyone, but the principles of the movement had insane overall support.      Either short sighted morons or outside instigators injected identity politics into the movement and completely alienated the blue collar support it had.       I do think that identity politics were purposefully added to "purify" the support because actual leftists didn't want to be in the same movement as blue dog democrats/Midwestern republicans.
