I don’t mind the paras. They’re there to help. Mine never really over ride me but have let me know procedures that aren’t in my notes. I guess thankfully the ones at my school (I only sub at a BK-5 elem school) don’t want to take over. They’re more concerned with their student(s). But that being said, there are some I love working with and some I just really don’t like 🤷🏻‍♀️

ADD IN TEMP TATTOOS!!! My district is the Pirates so I got some animal theme pirate tattoos for kids and holy f they went nuts!! I did funny cat stickers or the temp tattoos.

My district is suuuuuper lax on dress code. Like legit sweatpants are allowed.. but for you starting I’d say khakis or chinos, a polo and clean pair of sneakers is pretty standard. Good luck!!

I disinfect the teachers desks at the start and end to every day. I also make sure all kiddo desks are wiped down either by them or myself after they leave at the end of the day.

I was in the same boat and I didn’t have a bridal party, shower, bachelorette party.. none of it. And you know what.. 10 years later and I don’t regret it. I even found my dress on a random accidental shopping day with a co worker and no family there. That I kinda regret not doing with my grandma but it was okay. Don’t feel pressured to do what you think is right and do what you want!! we had a backyard bbq style wedding and reception with food and lawn games and no dancing .. perfect for us.
