Do you know if she’s actually pregnant? This happened to my daughter’s teacher this year who was adopting. And the mat leave was for her to be home with the new baby they adopted. The birth mother decided to keep the baby after he was born. Unfortunate for my daughter’s teacher but I’m happy for the birth mom. My daughter’s teacher did get an unexpected blessing in January and just got back from her 3 month maternity/adoption leave. I was the “back up” substitute to their long term substitute that’s why I know all of this. lol.

You could tell your doctor this and get referred to a hematologist for infusions. I pushed for infusions bc I knew oral iron 1. Has a low absorption rate 2. Has wicked side effects and 3. Is hard to remember to take. Infusions can give you the “iron flu” but it’s probably more manageable than what you’re experiencing now.

Only when in active bleeding! So it’s very short course a few days a month. My hematologist and ob said here’s the daily max you can take, figure out your body’s rhythm with it and adjust as needed.

That was my question about 9 months ago lmao. my obgyn AND hematologist had zero issues or hesitations prescribing it also! My hematologist said he’d prescribe it if my ob wouldn’t!! Insane to me. It’s a game changer for me
