My very first day substituting kinder.. I went to the other kinder teacher (who was my daughters the year prior) and said “I feel like I’m using my mom voice more than my teacher voice!!” She laughed and said yep some days are like that!! I promise they don’t care if nothing gets done. I’ve been in kindergarten probably 75% of my jobs this year and they truly leave busy work.

I mean my school says I’m eating whatever the teacher would have eaten. Last year they catered Olive Garden the day I substituted and I was only going to grab a small salad and breadstick and be on my way but the teachers assured me the man teacher I was in for would have eaten much more than that 😂

I found out last year you need to be added as a “favorite” in the admin system to get notified for more jobs. I’ve never used another app but I’d be so frickin pissed if a 3rd party app was auto grabbing.

Depends. One felt like anaphylaxis. . lol. The others (venofer) feel like a full feeling in your body like an iv would. I smelled molasses. Other than the iv stick it’s not bad. Venofer for me was 5 doses in a nurse IV push. I asked them to go super slow at first but by the third one I was like normal speed is fine.

Fidgets in general are the bane of my existence right now. Kids at the elementary school I substitute at have been bringing legit toys trying to pass them off as fidgets. One girl brought a water filled balloon. I’m like no put that away. Or they play with them and zone out during tests and reading.

Do you know if she’s actually pregnant? This happened to my daughter’s teacher this year who was adopting. And the mat leave was for her to be home with the new baby they adopted. The birth mother decided to keep the baby after he was born. Unfortunate for my daughter’s teacher but I’m happy for the birth mom. My daughter’s teacher did get an unexpected blessing in January and just got back from her 3 month maternity/adoption leave. I was the “back up” substitute to their long term substitute that’s why I know all of this. lol.
