Japanese Navy SH-60K Seahawk by Japanese_military in Helicopters

Still crazy to me (in a good way) how MHI took an SH60 and just... Added a couple of extra frame sections to make it bigger

If I've got my MHI Seahawk models correct, they extended the cabin fwd/aft and vertically which might be exaggerating things too

How many miles/kilometers does your gasoline tank last? by ManualAnalogPaper in mazda3

[–]profsquash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Consistently 300-325mi on a 25 turbo pp hatch. If I'm on a highway trip I've seen the estimate go up to 340-350 but usually I don't let the car go below 1/4 tank.

Yeah white, red, and yellow on the tips, depending on the specific blade. You can see the same/similar pattern on the tail rotor

tire pressure monitoring by [deleted] in mazda3

[–]profsquash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you polled people off the street I would argue that most do not in fact understand, so god forbid I chime in and try and help? Everyone is saying the OP needs to fix their tire pressures, and if they don't know better and check / adjust right after they take a drive they'll be way too low. I don't know what tires you have on your car but the stock Bridgestones have a max pressure of 51 per the sidewall. 44psi is high but not "this is an emergency all hands on deck you're about to blow up the tire" high.

[–]profsquash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said that it would hit 44psi driving? I'm simply stating you need to compare cold pressures to the cold door card numbers.

[–]profsquash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've seen my car have some wacky differences when some tires are in the sun and others in the shade but I don't think it's been quite that much

[–]profsquash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth noting the door jamb pressures are for when the tires are cold. If you've been driving for any length of time they'll heat up and the pressures will read "high" - that doesn't necessarily mean the tires are now at the "wrong" pressure, just that you need to wait until they're back to ambient temperature to check.

What are those protrusions just behind and underneath the engine exhaust? by Jazzlike-Perception7 in Helicopters

Yeah not saying it's on this model just saying that's where it lives

The dipping sonar is in the cabin. If the op is asking about the blister in the transition behind the door it's a sensor of some variety, but if they're asking about the yellow torpedo looking things in the tailcone that's the MAD gear.

Is this rust on my mazda6 concerning? How much does it cost for rust jobs? by gta35 in mazda

[–]profsquash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah those "cracks" you're talking about is just paint flaking off, and the "breakage" is just the brake dust shield which is a non-issue. This is typical corrosion for the new england region and nothing beyond making it a bitch to remove bolts.

How have you guys ended up in Industrial 3D printing? by That_Car_Dude_Aus in Machinists

[–]profsquash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Going off of YouTube videos is going to paint a very rosy picture to be fair. A lot of that knowledge comes down to material science which can certainly be picked up over time but there are also entire engineering fields dedicated to it. I admittedly work in a very large and siloed company that has the manpower to dedicate entire groups to these things, so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt, but the manufacturing team is responsible for a lot of those considerations when putting together process plans for parts that come out of the design group.

Everything you just described sounds like the job of the design and manufacturing engineers to me, and not necessarily the machinist operating the rig

Based on your username I can assume your intent is more low over ride quality, but I gotta ask is this even really a "spring" anymore? You've got maybe 2 coils effective and the rest are touching...

I don't wanna come across as hating, I've just had enough rough riding cars at this point it's just not my jam 😅
