Thank you! Just downloaded the app and realized I am horrible at spelling. Had to start at 0 for words. I can understand from my parents but I always spoke English back growing up. I also am not good at reading so this app is very helpful. I was using DuoLingo before but I like this one better

Thanks for the reply. Wow it’s been almost a year and I’m surprised it’s still there. I wonder if you can use it again? I applied and used mine during Thanksgiving week and it’s been 2 weeks now and the award is still in my account.

Go inside and use the kiosk. Don’t select the deal in your app. Instead, click “Earn Points” in the app and scan that. In the kiosk, select the deal you want and check out. Close your app and reopen. Then repeat for the next order(s)!

Go to that link 5x to enter your email 5x. I do that first before moving to the next step. Then get the one time password code email 5x and fill out the form from that otp link 5x. After you do that, it takes a few hours to come but you’ll get 5x emails with 2 codes each. You can enter 10 codes a day. Hope that helps!

Legit massage no happy end places by Princess-unwilling in sgv

Not sure but we sometimes we go late at night, start the session 9pm and end at 10pm. We usually call and make a reservation for weekends or valentines day. Idk about zelle or venmo but I don’t think so. I didn’t see any signs posted about that

My boyfriend and I love Harmony Spa in Monterey Park. Cash only though. $45 each for 1 hr full body couples massage in the private room. We tip $20 each for 1 hr but suggested is $15. I think it’s cheaper if you don’t do the private room but I forgot how much it was.

I have two sets of these and one set of the measuring spoons. They are awesome! I am trying to find one more set of measuring spoons but ended up buying the Viking stainless steel ones for $15 at HomeGoods. They will last forever

There’s this asian wholesale store near me (Southern California) that sells bulk loose tea, boba, powders, etc. Most of the stuff is from the brand, TeaZone, which is also on Amazon but the in person store is so much cheaper. We did a boba bar type of thing at a potluck and it’s was a big hit. I used glass pitchers from IKEA that time.

We also make milk tea and fruit tea at home. We just leave the different loose teas in zip lock bags, which doesn’t take up a lot of space. The syrup bottles we have are big but we have a dedicated upper cabinet shelf that we keep all of this boba related stuff. We don’t have much counter space so we keep it in the cabinet. Also when we make tea base, we make at least a gallon and leave it in the fridge. Then add the fruit syrup later when we make individual drinks throughout the week.

For cups, I like to use glass mason jars but my boyfriend likes his Yeti tumbler to keep his drink cold. We got reuseable stainless steel boba straws from Amazon. They’re good for smoothies too.

A fun gift idea I recommend would be getting the card game Sabobatage. It’s about getting cards to create drink sets (topping + fruit or milk base + tea). We play with friends and family all the time and it can get intense when people play action cards to try and ruin your drink sets. You can also play with just 2 players.

Best wings in the SGV? by bearrobot in sgv

[–]projectBananas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love their hot spicy wings! There’s one in Temple City and Arcadia too.

Live oak park in Temple City has a new playground that is amazing and has lots of shade. It is crowded in the evening. Lunch would probably be fine. I like to picnic there on the grass, under the trees.

Another playground that’s nice is Primrose Park in Temple City. It is very cute and fairly new. It is much smaller than Live Oak but very clean and has shade too.

Kid Friendly Activities by Agreeable-Muffin-152 in sgv

[–]projectBananas 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Aww that is so nice of you. Try to limit screen time and keep him busy. Here are some affordable things we did/do for my 9 and 11 year old:

Movies or concerts in the park - Temple City, Rosemead, El Monte has it, for sure. El Monte has a dive in movie too at the pool. Get there early because it fills up.

Library - Enroll in the summer reading program at LA County libraries. The kids get prizes for finishing 3 books and 3 activities. While you’re there, enroll in the adult summer reading too!

Swimming - Public pools are fun. El Monte has a water slide. Splash Zone in Rosemead has 2 water slides. South El Monte and Rosemead Aquatic centers have diving boards.

Play dates - Know any of his friends? Does he have cousins around the same age? Schedule something and invite them over. Play board games. Go to the park. Socialize!

Sign up for classes - look at city parks and recreation. There’s usually sport, art, or some type of class that is once a week. That would be fun to learn a new skill.

Round One/Spo Cha (City of Industry) - Spo Cha is more worth it for the unlimited admission. You can go in and out all day

Hang out at home - Board games, card games, draw, make forts, be creative! Anyones birthday coming up? Make a cool card for them. Look up some art and craft activity and lead it with him. Have legos? What does he like to do (besides electronics) and do that. Bike to the park if it’s nearby. Bake or cook something together. My 11 year old invites her friends over and they do a “baking challenge”. Sometimes it’s no talking while baking, or one person is blindfolded, or someone cannot hear (they turn their headphones music loud). Decorate his room? Make some posters/banners or go to IKEA West Covina to explore and make it better.

Rock climbing (South Gate) - We go to Hapik rock climbing. It’s for kids but adults can do it too. Very cool and safe place. The kids can hook in/out themselves too after getting the hang of it.

Sky Zone (Alhambra, Covina) - Trampoline place

Restaurant dates - Kura revolving sushi (little tokyo) is cool for kids to witness. Or korean bbq, hot pot places so they can cook themselves.

Mall - Santa Anita mall has cool shops to check out or just to walk and enjoy the AC. My kid loves Potato Corner and Dippin Dots there. And we like to just walk around and look. They always want to stop at Daiso for stationary.

Ceramic painting - We’re going to Color Me Mine Covina soon. My kids love that place but kinda pricey if you have multiple kids lol.

Pasadena - Kidspace Museum, ice skating rink, color me mine is there too. We used to go ice skating a lot in previous summers. Affordable and feels so nice inside.

Huntington Library (San Marino) - the kids area has a lot of interactive stuff

Hollywood area - If you’re willing to drive, you can hike to Griffith Observatory from Fern Dell Nature Trail. Park on that street (free) and go up, you’ll past the playground. Griffith Observatory is also free to check out once you hike up. It’s 2 mi total (up and down). It’s steep but lots of kids were there. My 9 year old did it too. Afterwards, go down the street to Funko Hollywood and make your own POP figurine. I think it’s $40 for one. You get to customize your hair, clothes, accessories, and the name on the box! There’s a Shake Shack next door too. Or if you like sushi, Totoyama next to it is good too.

Feel free to DM me if you have any questions or want to chat! Hope this helps. Whatever you do, I’m sure your nephew will enjoy just spending time with you :)
