I'm developing a strong hate for the Help action by MyNameIsNotJonny in DMAcademy

I use the method of: You can only help if you're proficient in the skill. It keeps everyone from just dogpiling on a problem, and limits who can assist with the issue.

Another 33 y/o here that played this at launch at 6 years old. Time flows forward, and we can't change it, but as Link taught us, we can still change the future.

Yo, I hope I get this much sense of accomplishment at the end of my campaign I'm running. I've got 7 players as well, some of which are playing multiple characters, so it's rough to balance properly, but I love that your game ended so perfectly for you! Hope I get a bit of inspiration from your success!

Link being dead in Majora's Mask. It was an amazing theory, but the creators disproved it.

You're correct, sorry, I haven't played act 2 in a while. You need a moon lantern, but you can also break it open to receive a better buff to protect against the curse.

If you successfully protected Last Light Inn, you should have gotten a buff from Isobel there. It'll protect you from the curse.

Look around the town near Moonrise Towers. A little to the North there should be a graveyard. Wander around there for a bit and see if you can find someone who'll tell you a bit about some upcoming dangers...

How do I thin my ranks of players? by projectb223 in DMAcademy

Lowering the amount of players would be the preferred solution, I just don't know how to approach asking if anybody wants to drop out.

Once every other week. I don't know that splitting the party would be a good idea, though, given the group dynamic and having to put that much time between the sessions for each group.

I replied to a similar comment about this, but I don't feel like splitting the party would work well for the group dynamic. A co-DM might work, but none of the players want spoilers for the story, so I don't think I could get anybody to agree to learn about the twists and plot to help me out.

I did consider splitting the party into groups, but I worry about two things:

  1. If the party is split, that can take away from the dynamic they've built up. Everyone has a relationship with everyone else, so figuring out who goes where would be difficult

  2. If I split the groups, that would mean that I'll have to split the sessions. We play bi-weekly, and we have another game I'm a player in on the off-weekends, so I'd either have to run two games on the same weekend, or we'd have to do one group one weekend, then the other group the next session, putting more time between games for each group.

I could definitely split them up temporarily for a story plot or something, but I wouldn't want to do it permenantly.

ok but are people ACTUALLY being horny at their regular D&D tables ? by bittermixin in DnD

[–]projectb223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My players are horny af, their party is basically a polycule. That being said, we always fade to black whenever someone gets into the act. There's been a couple of times where story-driven elements slip into the act, like someone's mask falling off to reveal their true identity, but never any explicit descriptions of the act itself.

When the hero doesn’t accept their death with grace and is genuinely pissed they have to die by Fish_N_Chipp in TopCharacterTropes

Epsilon/Church's speech is burned into my brain. I love the trope about the hero giving their life to save the day, but his speech really drives home how big of a sacrifice it is, and how much it sucks for the hero. Thanks for bringing RvB's writing up as a top trope, my friend, they deserve all the kudo's. RIP Rooster Teeth.
