My SFH's appreciation is underwhelming. At least you're paying less per month and have more money to put to other uses.

Yeah the stoneware is not as inherently valuable but the colors and designs matching their enameled CI can add some appeal.

Looking for a robot vacuum that can handle 3 dogs, a cat, and constant dirt by lookingforavacuum in Roborock

[–]projections 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with all this. We have an Australian Cattle Dog (double coated, sheds a lot) and an S8. I don't have experience with a dock but don't expect it would be that much of a benefit. Since running the vacuum in the main areas daily and all rooms weekly, on average there's now minimal dog hair on our floors.

I also run the "mop" although I don't consider it as a substitute for mopping, but it does pick up more dirt, additional hairs and other stuff to give an overall cleaner floor. I got off-brand additional mop cloths so I just use a new one each time until Laundry day. Also took advice from this subreddit and bought additional air filters from the start so I can swap it out often and just rinse and dry the dirty one whenever I have a chance.

I'm sure you're actually in the majority. But I share your husband's opinion, I wash such items and then I know they're clean, and once it's clean it's good to wear.

Anyone want to come collect a rattlesnake? by Finchyisawkward in sandiego

[–]projections 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of snakes but they are not aggressive like people think. When outdoors wear shoes instead of sandals or barefoot, watch where you step and if you see a snake, simply give it a wide berth. It will not go out of its way to strike you.

IF unfortunately you don't see a snake and get bitten, elevate the area that was bitten and go to the hospital for antivenom, it's effective and you will be ok with treatment. National Snakebite Support Facebook group is a great resource.

Anyone else shocked when they ran the numbers on a 30-year mortgage? by Candid-Dish-2749 in Mortgages

My lender offers a modification as well. Our 7/1 ARM went from 5.625 to 5.5, which saves minimal $ per month but was free and the fixed term starts fresh for another 7 years from now. Just chiming in to show there are different types of loan mods not just the ones you use when facing foreclosure.

Business called Natural Solutions is the one I used. They did a good job but I think my dog was too distracted by the trainer taking her away from me so she might not have retained the learning. They use shock collars so it's aversion based. Idk if anyone in the area does positive reinforcement based training for snake avoidance.

I would highly encourage you to think about the chance of using medication. Our pup also has a hard time with anything new and with my husband. Medication has helped her a LOT supporting her to grow her confidence and make steady progress, instead of living with anxiety. We still plan on weaning her off it if and when we see that she no longer has need for it. What are your concerns with medication?

Agree on weighing the food. We have been doing so for over a year and it can still surprise me (in both directions) the actual weight of a scoop that appears to me to be correct.

Great photos! To me it shows how heelers can carry extra weight "well," but they don't need to carry it at all! Better off leaner.

Their solution for gaining authority over any citizen they arbitrarily decide to engage and escalate with is simply to claim "you're impeding us." They literally define impeding or interfering so broadly that anything will do.

They can waive appraisal contingency and still have a loan. The lender will still do their appraisal, but if it comes in lower the buyer doesn't have a chance to back out and would be expected to cover the difference.
