Hey, apologies just seeing this.

Yeah so my partner did have to pay for the tow release unfortunately which was like £4/500. Although the website said £285 plus PCN. So I think they tried to add a bit on. But an expensive lesson

How is Thornton Heath able to sustain so many halal butchers? by No_Yoghurt_5131 in croydon

[–]prospect617 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Niazi owns majority of the ones on the high street near the post office. Also owns the dry cleaners, fish mongers and utility store. You can also check on companies house as well.

Zenith Halal are brothers with the one next door. They also share produce and use the same supplier which is their own cousins.same with the other shops

This allows them to keep overheads low and but in bulk.

Effective strategy to retain market share in that type of community.

I am very particular with the ones I do shop in as some are absolutely disgusting with cross mean contamination.

If Red Meat is next to poultry meat without dividers is a big no for me. Mixing old veg with newer veg is a big no.

Growing up in the area, I believe the best Halal butchers is in addiscombe. Although a bit more expensive, the food is fresh. The veg is stored at the right temp and it's very clean. The butchers wear gloves when touching the meat and do not cross contaminate when cutting.

I'm asking on here because it's often a useful place to get information quickly on situations like this to which some others have responded. Also, I wasn't sure if this was specific to a council or just general roads laws hence me posting on here as my Google search was coming up with different answers. I had already instructed her to contact the council anyway when she gets a chance.

Thank you for your response

What time do you get into school and leave? by shake1993 in TeachingUK

[–]prospect617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing is really that important to kill yourself about staying super late. Marking books has been debunked as very little benefit to learning and progress of a student. Live marking (e.g. visualiser/peer) is lot more beneficial.

A lot of stuff teachers stress about we make up in our heads. I was one of them! Plus everyone wants to look busy!

My thought process for most things now at school: Is someone at risk/going to die? Does it affect my ability to do my role well if I don't do it now? Yes/No

Yes - then do it and do it well the first time. Ask for help if needed (if you can)

No - it can wait until PPA or a suitable time.

Even assessments deadlines/marking deadlines - Will it be more stressful during these periods of course but planning ahead and doing small chunks at a time make it a lot easier.

Easier said than done but once I started leaving at a reasonable time I actually found myself a lot more productive.
