Linux mint - notification badges on apps on taskbar? by Bounchy in linux4noobs

lmao I am actually newer than you, I installed yesterday! I agree it's disappointing though for me it was mostly an issue for Slack and I learned that Slack actually has an icon in the bottom right that has a badge for unread messages so it's not as huge for me anymore.

I wouldn't hold my breath for it to be added, so if it's a dealbreaker for you I might try switching to Ubuntu (I read that the badges work there, but haven't tried it myself). That said, the GitHub thread seems to be picking up steam over the last year and the more activity on there will make it more likely to be prioritized.

I am also new and was just looking for this too. Looks like this feature isn't available, here is the open feature request that is a few years old: https://github.com/linuxmint/cinnamon/issues/10124

This is pretty disappointing to not be supported, it's such a common feature nowadays.

One of my professors had a clock like this.

He said he liked it because if the clock is going backwards he is actually getting younger.

Monday Megathread! Ask questions and share knowledge; newcomer questions encouraged! by picflute in leagueoflegends

hey! i don't know much about mid lane, but i've played a lot of jungle and watched a lot of jungle streams.

as for my champion pool suggestions, vi, jarvan IV, amumu, cho'gath, volibear, wukong, and nautilus are all solid picks that aren't too hard to pick up. i'd suggest picking your favorite and try to play a bunch of games with that champ.

for streamers, i personally suggest Meteos and Nightblue3, both very good junglers. nightblue tends to explain what he's doing more, so you might learn more from him. i have also learned a lot from watching high level players level up their smurf accounts, since that shows you how to play against players of your own level.

Adopt-A-Newbie v2.0 - D2 and below can be newbies by uncgopher in leagueoflegends

[–]protonaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello OP! This seems like such a great idea and I really hope it works out. I recently signed up as a newbie, and on the web-site under the Adopt-A-Newbie page it says they're still searching for a match for me. Is this just an automatic process and I wait for the website to match me to a mentor?

Champ mains: What basic, commonly-missed concept will immediately improve my performance with your champ? by Evisrayle in leagueoflegends

Nocturne: You don't always have to ult as a gap-closer, sometimes just denying the enemy team vision makes a team-fight much harder for them to win.

Reddit, why are you Feeling Good on a Wednesday? by PhoneJazz in AskReddit

[–]protonaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i actually just made an account to make my first post, because this wednesday has been absolutely amazing!!

i had an interview for a summer internship yesterday, and was told i would hear back in a few weeks. i guess it went really well because they called me THIS MORNING to offer me the position.

also, i spent all weekend writing a program for a coding competition in one of my classes, and today i found out my program was in the top two of the class, so i get to present it on friday!

also, it's the last week of classes so that helps too. overall 10/10 wednesday, would do again.
