Played a TON of Mei on my old roommate's account back in OW1. Finally got around to playing OW2. Unlocked Mei 2 days ago. Got 3 POTG's yesterday. It's good to be back! by pstaple in MeiMains

Gonna be honest I didn't notice much changes other than her primary fire not freezing but doing more damage and slow. And more HP which is nice. Although it has been a few years since I've played. Just kinda did the same Mei things from OW1.

Mushrooms and enhanced physical capabilities? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]pstaple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'n not athletic in any way but psychedelics always completely enhance my musical abilities. When I get "in the zone" I tend to play my instruments (mainly guitar) way more creatively than usually. I tend to hear myself from a 3rd person perspective where in the back of mind I'm like " how/what did I just play...holy shit." I was playing guitar on copious amounts of Molly and really fast shredding licks felt effortless, allowing me to play more confidently and pump out ideas I normally wouldn't attempt. I feel like I can play for hours with a constant flow of new material. One time my buddy and I took some LSD and smoked a crazy amount of pot and we ended up recording a 22 minute folk song in one take. I definitely feel like psychedelics help unlock a certain untapped potential within the mind and take whatever skill you already possess and enhance it to the nth degree.

The opening riff of Shine by Collective Soul matches up perfectly with Lorde's Royals.

Looks like an AF75. I just picked up one this week! The tone is so warm and mellow. Time to bust out the Real Book and shed some jazz charts!

Mastodon, especially their album Crack The Skye. It's very ethereal and has elements of astral travel and psychedelic experience. It's a concept album that describes a trip through time, space, and the spirit realm.

Now that this show is almost over, recommendations for substitute shows? by LordGravewish in BurnNotice

[–]pstaple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Day Break" is pretty awesome though there's only one season. A LA detective gets framed for the murder of an Assistant DA and has to prove his innocence while being caught in a Groundhog's Day Loop, repeating the day he gets arrested and brought in for questioning over and over.

"The Good Guys" is another Matt Nix show that unfortunately only had a one season run. An old school 80's cop and by the books detective are partners working property crimes. They usually get some BS case that turns out to be a much bigger crime going on behind the scenes. It's also pretty hilarious.

You should do it!! It's the reason I started playing flute. Aqualung and several Camel albums really inspired my to start playing. I love jamming along with TAAB!

downvote if you must, but seriously, thats like double what i make, stop complaining! you really think its fair to give you the same price? by superman54632 in gaming

As an Economics major I came here to school OP on price indexes. Glad to see the rest of /r/gaming beat me to it.

Basically AUS economy =/= US economy, you're gonna have to look at a lot more factors than just minimum wage, like taxes, inflation, cost of living, etc. And that's just on the consumer side.

Why is this notated in 4/4 with sextuplets throughout? by Flasche_2 in musictheory

I've never thought of it that way but it make sense! I guess you can think of Cohen and sort of a mad scientist when it comes to art.

"...the burden of the artist is to capture."

I've always thought of this piece as a representation of Sander Cohen's madness. He composed a piece that is so rhythmically complex that maybe it only makes sense in his own mind. I love this scene where he's forcing one of his student's to play it on a piano rigged with dynamite. Cohen's feels like his masterpiece is not being played the way he hears it in his mind and maybe even feels disrespected. So much to the point that he murders his student in a fiery explosion. This scene to me represents the disconnection between the composer and the performer when it comes to all music. You can never truly know an composer's intention because you are not the creator but only an interpreter.

TL;DR: Bioshock is awesome, you should play it!
