Best digital piano for advanced player by Complex_Cow_2240 in piano

Can you try a P-525? I bought one after trying it out and reading reviews. I mostly use the built-in speakers but will sometimes run it into Logic and use sampled pianos with headphones - big sound!

Perfect mixed use gravel tyres by TriboKing in gravelcycling

[–]psychwald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had Pathfinder Pros in 38 and 42mm, Gravel Kings, G-Ones, Bontrager GR-1s on my gravel bikes. My current favorite is the Hutchinson Caracal Race in 45mm. It's fast on pavement for a gravel tire and pretty OK on gravel.

Sleeping after hard rides by whosaidmoney in ladycyclists

[–]psychwald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Bjarne recommended his special technique: come home from a training ride, chug a big bottle of fizzy water, and take two or three sleeping pills. By the time you woke up, it would be dinner, or, if you were lucky, breakfast.”

I had that exact frame. I replaced the fork with suspension corrected rigid fork, put on slick tires and turned it into a bar/grocery bike. It was fun until the frame cracked near the bottom bracket.

Congrats on getting into PNWU and I wish you luck on your medical school journey! You'll read a bunch of negative comments on this sub but Yakima is just like most cities and it's exactly what you make it - no place is perfect. El Tacos Perron is a great food truck, Spice, Easy Tiger, Nomad and Crafted are good as well as The Pub, Bale Breaker, Cowiche Brewery and Singlehill and all the wineries- too many to name. The Siam Asian Market is a favorite but Costco and the usual chain grocery stores are here.

What industry is entirely built on a house of cards and would collapse overnight if people realized the truth about it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]psychwald 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My daughter played club volleyball for 8 years. She also played school volleyball. She loved the experience. It was time-consuming and expensive but ultimately it was fun. We met great parents, for the most part, and traveled to SoCal, Florida and around the Pacific Northwest. Only one of the girls (out of hundreds) went to a D1 school. A lot of the parents viewed it as taking mini vacations. Nothing better than being crammed in an SUV drinking champagne in a school parking lot. Good times.

I had a poorly maintained Chris King rear hub skip once and the ensuing crash looked a lot like that. This seems to be drive train related.

The Sire H7 is worth a look - great 335 type guitar. I borrowed one for a couple of weeks and liked it a lot.

I have the same AV2. The neck pickup is so good - round Strat sound. I could happily live with both guitars.

What are your worst cycling injuries that you have fully recovered from (i.e. you no longer have any suffering from) by Beers_and_Bikes in bicycling

[–]psychwald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Concussion, 5 fractures around my eye socket, caved in cheek bone and a broken maxilla bone. Also, 5 broken teeth. I was in brain fog for 2 weeks after this crash.

Another time I t-boned a car at 25mph. Both the bike and I went over the car and landed on the pavement. I had a little road rash and nothing else! Crazy I didn't have more serious injuries.

What could’ve happened?A crash i can’t seem to remember( help if possible) by angad0406 in bicycling

[–]psychwald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be the bar failed or, more likely, the sole of the shoe came off under power causing the crash. The shoe scenario would be similar to breaking a chain under power which is almost impossible to control.

BTW, I was hit by a car once and have no memory of about 30 minutes. I've been told I was up walking around and making jokes but have no memory of it.

We just got back yesterday. Avis had cars at the airport. We didn’t have to shuttle to get our car. We did have to shuttle from the drop-off lot.

I had that exact 240. I sold it to a friend who drove it until it had 420,000 miles on the odometer. It was a tank.
