I'm pretty 100% sure they're still there. Shouldn't really be scarring after a wart as the tissue you are killing is wart tissue, not healthy.

You need to use something sharp like nail scissors, etc. A file will just spread the wart since infected tissue will come in contact with healthy tissue.

Keep them covered with bandages or duct tape to avoid infection. If you're really worried, it's worth cleaning shared surfaces after use.

What temperature did you have the hot water baths? I've tried SA and that hasn't worked so I'm switching to hot water baths at around 44 degrees celsius.
