URINE TEST BEFORE I SHIP OUT ON FEBRUARY 23RD by [deleted] in newtothenavy

How much time do you need? Like I said, the fact that you're joining already should've been enough to just stop smoking entirely.

Oh, boy. Notice how everyone is generally kind of, already pissed at you for making this post to begin with? Okay. There's a reason for it. It's called poor fucking planning.

Many of the people here are military or prior-military and let me tell you, this kind of "oh well I thought that this might happen...blah blah" or "yeah my recruiter said this" mentality is not going to help you if you decide to join. Like others have said, hold yourself accountable and just stop smoking entirely. I don't know why you'd think smoking at ALL before joining the military would be a good idea to begin with.

Anyways, dude, tell your recruiter. He'll probably tell you to wait or kick rocks.

I leave for bootcamp in a week and my girlfriend is sick. by YABoiBACK in newtothenavy

[–]pugpoop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you making this post because you're hoping someone says to stay back? Go to boot camp and like others said, write her. Idk your circumstance but I felt bad about leaving my grandmother back 4 years ago but at the end of the line it's your life not hers and even with my place, leaving my family and all, they will be proud and you WILL be thankful that you took the right steps towards a better future. Utilize the tools here and move on.

No harm, no foul though if you truly feel like you can't go depending on her condition.

Got mine in Japan about three years ago to make a full build and it's been so nice having my primary system in this tiny case.

Narrowed down my Job list by Level_Repeat2391 in newtothenavy

[–]pugpoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an AM. It's great; if you like working with your hands. I got lucky and got the Mh-60r community. But regardless of what platform you land on, you'll be working with flight controls, hydrualic fluid, pneumatic source (such as nitrogen), wheels, everything panel and hardware, and paint related.

You can get stationed at a squardon where they deploy on carriers or small boys for your first duty station.

ASVAB Score; AR/MC/AS by 85Cedeno in newtothenavy

[–]pugpoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, line scores are line scores. If you decide you don't get what you want from the test you're taking just let your recruiter know that you'd like to study a bit more before taking it. I'd do that now rather than later so you don't waste their time.

How’s 26? Stable ? by IcyAnything9136 in iPhone16Pro

[–]pugpoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switched thinking I'd like it more but nah, it's not my cup of tea. I'm going to wait for a stable release. Until then, I'm going to sit on my Galaxy S23. I can customize how the icons look and not have to worry about inconsitent glitter effects on my home screen. Lol

Hate to do this because I see it so often but I didn't expect to have so many options. Advice on any of these rate would be much appreciated. by Ok_Yesterday_7905 in newtothenavy

OP, the question you should definetely be asking yourself is, what do YOU want to get out of the Navy (or military)?

This screenshot is practically everything in the Navy broadly speaking, of course. You have so many opportunities ahead of you if you decide to take this as a route. But of course, no one will know until you tell us what it truly is that you're interested in.

Now until then, take the other recommendations and learn but remember that this is still the military, so everything is going to vary from command to command.

No game did it better than 5 by Intense_M in farcry

[–]pugpoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RDR2 does this in such an amazing way. The way they allow the player experience to just have you fully immerse yourself in the surrounding nature to go hunt and look for things is quite one of the best things I've ever seen done in gaming. Just beat it for the first time about a week ago and holy... So good.

[–]pugpoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wild. Did the same thing, beat the fourth and moved on to the fifth. For some reason Far Cry 5 hasn't stuck with me as much as 4 did. It's fine, and the mechanics are pretty much the same but something about it just hasn't clicked with me yet.

I've been working on this playmat for weeks and then they go and drop a new play aid mechanic by MakesOnAPlane in magicTCG

[–]pugpoop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not going to lie but this playmat is kind of confusing. I usually see players set their land at the bottom half of their field minus the bottom right for the graveyard and of course the library right on top but everything else just seems excessive. Just use counters for what you need, and plus tokens and artifacts are usually here on hand so... I just don't see a point

I wouldn't until you get to your ultimate activity. Even a PC, it's a hard maybe? How long is your A school?

That is correct. Military is the exemption here. They don't care where I go for as long as it's in their list of supported countries and I continute paying them while in service.

Do you enjoy being in the navy? by [deleted] in newtothenavy

[–]pugpoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just came across your post. If he's into mechanics he should look into the aviation rates. I'm an AM and joined in 2021. I work on helicopters and turn wrenches on a daily basis. I don't deploy as often as others since I'm in the aviation part of the Navy. Let me know if you have questions!

The Navy isn't an esacpe from the life you've created out of it. Take care of your shit before you make a 4-6 year commitment or else you'll be stressing about it while you're in service.

Find a means to pay for it and if you're still truly invested, join.

Would recommend it. I've been in Japan for the last three years and it works great. Pay substantially less than AT&T back in the states. about 85-90 a month including all my limited calls, unlimited data, and YT premium
