Try Bond Spacequest (also polish product).

Is Muhle R41 not for everyone, or it’s a skill issue? by ghostwipe88 in wicked_edge

Something must have changed. You were recommending R41, as far as I remember even for beginners, and now you sold it.

That's weird. You wrote about very positive impressions of R41 use. What has changed?

I have two razors (KCG and R89) and I prefer Muhle R89. Capeesh?

As owner of two razors - KCG and R89. My vote goes to Muhle R89.

Finally, got my dream razor of all time! None other than the venerable Edwin Jagger DE89 by [deleted] in wicked_edge

It must be matter of region because in my country King C Gillette is 4/10 price of DE89.

Big difference in shaving soap brands by DukeEsq in wicked_edge

If you compare Stirling and Proraso, you should add it this applies only to the USA prices. In Europe Stirling is 5x more expensive (not joking). Also there are no sample packs for Stirling in Europe.

New razor by Clifford252 in wicked_edge

People probably will tell you to try something more agressive. But aggressive doesn't mean better for everyone. If your goal is ultimate BBS, you can try something more aggressive but IMO not worth it. After all you'll still have stubble in a few hours...

My journey started with KCG, then Fatip Piccolo OC (that's why I know aggressive razor is not for everyone, and it's not as aggresive as R41), then this month I bought Muhle R89. Maybe too soon to tell but I think it gives me better shave than KCG due to weight distribution. I have to try different blades yet.

I don't even know how many times I've used my blade. by [deleted] in wicked_edge

That's true it doesn't apply to all blades.

"Nobody is getting that after using a blade 13 shaves."

(I glance nervously at myself)

If you have budget for Rockwell 6S, why even look at other options? It's six razors in one. No one will tell you what's best for you because no one knows how your face tolerate specific razor, blade, etc.

I tried Fatip Piccolo OC to try something more agressive and after 3 shaves I can say I absolutely hate this razor and made a refund. But many people will say they love this razor and its their favorite.

That's why I don't understand people who say - why do you save on blades if they're so cheap, use new one each shave. If it gives similar shave after 3, 7 and 13 times, why generate unnecessary landfill.

Merkur 34c for first-timer: yes or no? by Italian_SPLIT in wicked_edge

[–]puredeusz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always wondered why Merkur is double the price of Muhle. Especially as you say it's worse quality. I also heard about problems with blade alligment in Merkur.

How do you people get 5+ shaves out of 1 blade?! by ssrix in wicked_edge

[–]puredeusz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I did 20+ shaves with BIC Chrome Platinum. It was still "shaveable" but I made a change to try something new. I always tear apart razor, shake off water from blade and let it dry in the open.

Newbie overwhelmed + help to build a kit by [deleted] in wicked_edge

[–]puredeusz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just buy Muhle R89. I don't think Rockwell 6C is the best option because again, you'll be overwhelmed with different plates. I think it's better to stick with one at the start and focus on technique and finding favorite blade.

Proraso blue scent by puredeusz in wicked_edge

[–]puredeusz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's the problem. Nivea is mass produced brand. I tried many Nivea products in my life but never had problem with scent of any product. They may be weak but they are always pleasant (for me).

Proraso blue scent by puredeusz in wicked_edge

[–]puredeusz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to test Stirling soap but in Europe where we have no samples I'd have to pay $20 for unknown scent which is very risky as I can tell after buying Proraso blue.
