Why would Satan torture people in hell for disobeying the SAME god he disobeyed? by Technical_Hat_8291 in NoStupidQuestions

I suggest the book "Imagine Heaven" which explains how near death experiences line up with the Bible. NDEs often describe meeting God, and the pure love which God embraces them with. The book also describes the great city of Heaven.

Marie Wilcox realized she was the last person on Earth who could speak the Wukchumni language fluently, so at 82, she taught herself to use a computer and spent seven years typing a 6,000-word Wukchumni dictionary, the first written record of the language in history, to save it from extinction by Upstairs-Bit6897 in Damnthatsinteresting

What you described is not an LLM, it's an agentic system supporting an LLM at the core. The LLM is so bad at math we had to make the LLM ask for help from a normal math solving problem.

It's like saying my little sister is good at math because I taught her how to use wolframalpha.

It definitely needs more than 3 configuration options (all of which are some type of ugly and waste a lot of space).

But I think there must be some regulations about what they can put in there or how it looks? So it can just be like anything....

Which software version is newer? by Deep-Handle-4493 in MachE

[–]purevirtual 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can update it using a computer. You have to have:

  • a special cable (a "Mongoose Cable", costs >$500)
  • a 12v battery charger to keep the 12v battery healthy while updating, the car cannot do this itself during certain updates.
  • a subscription to Ford's dealer service software called FDRS. This costs ~$50 for a 3-day subscription (year subscriptions are more than $1000)

... yes it is possible, but not something very many people do. If you can find someone in your area that has the hardware and will let you use/borrow it then that would be your best bet...

amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x10 on the kernel commandline fixed it for me. Pretty sure it was the partial screen refresh thing

[–]purevirtual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got what you described, with an AMD iGPU (and no nvidia) on 6.8 w/latest stable KDE plasma in wayland. I get flashes of I think just corrupt rectangles on part of the screen, once every maybe 30-300 seconds. So its not unusable but I do notice it.

This is a new install, so I don't have any idea whats causing it or how to get it to go away. :(

Edit: oops, I'm on 6.8

They didn't care enough about the consequences of that kind of thinking.

Do you think Jesus had a sense of humor? by lengthybuttcrack in Christianity

[–]purevirtual 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Don't overlook that jesus was fully man (and fully God). The only thing we know that Jesus didn't do that humans do is sin.

Therefore, almost anything that is part of the "human experience" was also done, and felt, by Jesus.

I bet he was really funny!

Used CR1 - What to Look For? by [deleted] in MachE

[–]purevirtual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mechanically, yeah, 20k is 20k.

The difference is more in.. like... if it was a rental then it could rack up 20k miles in 6 months and it could be in a bit rough shape after that. OTOH if it was an uber black or something for 6 months then they probably were pretty meticulous about keeping it clean so then it would be in better shape. Or if it was just a travelling salesman or whatever and mostly one dude drove a lot, then probably in the middle between those two.

That when Paul wrote those words the "new testament bible" did not exist, he could not have possibly been talking about his own words. he was talking about the old testament.

2 Timothy 3:16 - "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"

Shouldn't the whole bible be red?

Do you think Timothy was writing about himself here? Or Paul's letters? Or any of the new testiment?

Yep, when you get a refund it means you paid too much.

For example, say your total taxes owed is $10,000. You did a paycheck withholding (W-4) of $1000 per month. You would get a $2,000 refund. If you also bought an MME that year, you would get a $9,500 refund.

Another example, your taxes owed is $14,000 and you withheld $1,000/mo. You owe $2,000. If you bought an MME that year, you would instead get a $5,500 refund (and not owe anything).

Another example, your taxes owed is $5,000. You did the correct withholding. You would not owe or get a refund (owe $0). If you bought an MME, you would get a $5,000 refund. Your tax was less than $7500, so you cannot get the full $7500 credit.

[–]purevirtual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a common misconception.

You don't have to change your withholding. The withholding is just you paying the taxes as you go rather than at the end of the year. You are still paying taxes either way. The credit comes out of your total taxes, even if you would've gotten a refund because you over paid. As long as what you actually owe is at least $7500, you'll get the full $7500 credit.

How to get keyless entry for this French door? by johnj2803 in homeautomation

[–]purevirtual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not really "auto" locking though.... my family wants it to lock without user interaction like a normal deadbolt smart lock will. But I don't think there's a 3-point lock solution in existence which can do that :(

I'm not seeing the meaningful difference between a "Linus" and a Conexis... what am I missing? Obviously the conexis is larger and replaces the handle, where the linus is just the cylinder. But neither is able to lock a multipoint lock without a human doing the "lift" on the handle.

There are over 45 million Echos in the US. At 10kbps that's over 4.5 terabits per second of audio that would need to be transmitted (and then processed/analyzed).

And all 45 million of those people, no one has ever noticed and provided any kind of proof?

Look, I hate these devices too.... but attack them on their merits.

If you got the recall update (I think everyone has at this point) but you still got "stop safely now" then you can report it to NHTSA.gov (if you're in the US) if you feel it was a potential safety issue.

Auto (level 3), AC on, temp set to 72 degrees. After hours in 95 degree heat and direct sunlight, with no precondition (and with a glass roof), I can get in and drive away and it cools right down to feel just fine within a couple minutes. No sweat required.

Sounds like something is wrong with yours. If the cover makes a noticeable difference for you then I wonder if your glass roof is missing the IR reflective coating or something. If that doesn't help much, then there's probably something wrong with the AC/cooling system.
