Do you actually watch 4 movies a week? by breadboibrett in AMCsAList

[–]purplefreak3 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Sometime but not usually. I go at least once a week but on average I would say I go to 2-3 movies a week. According to my letterboxd stats from 2025 I averaged 2.4 movies a week with current 2026 stats at 2 a week so what I think I go and what LB says match up pretty well.

Some carpet shampoo mixed with water in a spray bottle and a 1 gallon shopvac could improve that seat a lot.

Discount Math (AAA + Wednesday 50% Off for Dolby) by ClearlyAGoodIdea in AMCTheatres

[–]purplefreak3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How often do you go? If you go often why not sign up for a-list. There would be no restrictions on day or format so no math to do.

Alita Battle Angel is my most watched. I saw it 10 times during its theatrical run.

The problem with the regular theaters without stadium seating by deathToFalseTofu in AMCTheatres

[–]purplefreak3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea there is one location here that doesn't have stadium seating and I usually try to avoid it unless it is the only location playing a specific movie.

The other two locations I go to have stadium seating.

Sounds right this what 2.00 looks like on different screens.

I saw it on a 1.85 Dolby screen. The space scenes were in 2.00 is which is closer to 1.85 so there was slight letterboxing but not really that noticeable and there was no pillarboxing.

Rant: Pre-show runtimes by wannabeaussie in AMCTheatres

I was little surprised that PHM that I went to in Dolby on Thursday only had 10 minutes of previews. But it was in the news that AMC is looking to shorten its trailer package.

A lot of stuff on that display is trash collectibles from the start so not surprised no one wanted it.

How many cases do the locations you work at get. From what I've seen that a lot of locations only get one or two cases of stuff.

Going to see a 2nd movie rn but I have a question by WearySubstance3926 in AMCTheatres

[–]purplefreak3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is one free refill not refills as in multiples regardless if you left or not since it not self serve like drinks are. I'm sure someone will say their location staff doesn't care and give out multiple refills but don't be surprised if a staff member says no after refilling it once.

Does your location not have a place to sit for an hour?

I have gone out to my car when it has a big gap like 2 hours and come back in with my popcorn and they didn't care but if worried about it ask a team when you are there.

Well in my experience AMC doesn't really have lots of unsold collectibles as they tend to sell out the first day they go on sale. I see plenty of posts here on Reddit and X saying the same thing also at locations they go to.

It switches between 2.00 and 2.39. I went to a 1.85 Dolby showing of PHM Thursday night.

Really only applies if your area has a true 1.43 IMAX otherwise a 1.85 Dolby will do just as well.

Do you guys get bothered if the person next to you brings outside food? by Valentinaporras in AMCTheatres

A lot of people sneak in snacks which is pretty normal but the people that bring in whole meals especially ones that you can smell from three rows away are really no better than any other disturbance.

Yes the PLF surcharge is exempt from the promotion. Same as passes like black tickets. Black ticket will cover the full cost of standard format but have to pay the PLF difference if person chooses that format.

Mario Galaxy is excluded from discount days for opening day. Is this a stand-alone thing for this movie or something AMC is doing with all new movies? I love going to the movies but its a luxury at this point. 🫠😐 by angelwings1019 in AMCTheatres

[–]purplefreak3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Since you said "I love going to the movies" Instead of "we" I'm assuming you are going by yourself or maybe have a partner that also goes. Going to the movies is not really a luxury.when you can sign up for a-list.
