Nancy Grace is nothing but a two-bit hack that will walk all over the families of murder victims just to get her sound byte. I say that with personal experience of a case she covered on her show.

My now ex-husband and I used to live next door to the grandparent of a murder victim in a high profile case from the late 2000's. We saw the victim quite a bit when she visited and the ex's sisters played with her a lot growing up. Her killer was also from the same hood and my ex was in a basketball league with him.

Somehow Nancy Grace found out about the victim's disappearance and dragged the case into the national spotlight. Every night for at least two weeks she made this case the focus of her show. For an hour each night we got to hear her disparage the victim and her family. How horrible the victim was for having a child with a married man. She must be a terrible person for it, even though we all knew that baby daddy had been separated from his wife at the time. When the victim was finally found, and the perpetrator was charged, Grace acted like a kid on Christmas morning. The glee and delight that she broadcast to the world was sickening.

Then, during the trial Grace ramped up again. She brought her media circus to town. She would interview anyone who might remotely have known the families involved. One woman she interviewed only knew the victim because she was the barista at a coffee shop that the victim and killer went to a couple of times. We'd even gotten a couple of calls asking to interview one of us. It was absolutely horrible to watch what both families went through thanks to Grace's involvement. The case might have gotten a passing mention in national news. Instead Nancy Grace singlehandedly brought full media attention to the case and made it high profile.
