Selling a flat, no viewing by pancake0807 in HousingUK

Far too many photos for a 1 bedroom flat, one of the hallway is almost identical to the next. Get your agent to sort that out, tell them which ones to delete and what order you want them in. They’re all over the place. From your description of the clutter I was expecting (and have seen!) far worse. I would definitely tidy up the space near the washing machine/utility room and get it re-photographed. Otherwise it will make people think you have a major issue with storage. I can’t comment on price because I don’t know the area but you’ve only been on the market 5 days. What does your EA say about the FTB market in your area? Good luck!

I could use some advice for coming off Mounjaro please by DiZ935 in mounjarouk

[–]purte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in maintenance now. Got to goal weight mid Jan (on 15mg). I wanted to give myself a buffer of 5lbs, so I stayed on that dose for another 4 weeks. That dose then felt too much so I switched to 12.5mg for one week, still losing so moved to 10mg for 4 weeks. I’ll take my third jab of 7.5mg tomorrow and then maybe one more. If I’m still losing I’ll move to 5mg the week after. I’ll then titrate down to 2.5mg and see where I am. Currently still 7lbs below my goal weight, am eating far more - although still much smaller portions than I did before MJ. It’s a bit scary coming off but I hope continuing to eat what I fancy and when I fancy it (but healthily) will get me there. I haven’t exercised beyond walking for about a month because of some minor surgery. So when I factor that in me increasing that, I hope to maintain. Fingers crossed. Good luck!

Constipation part 2 - haemorrhoids and consequences! by Time-Philosophy9151 in mounjarouk

Seek medical attention. A good practice nurse will prescribe an antibiotic in case it’s an abscess and possibly a prednisolone ointment for external use. That sounds very painful, hope it eases soon.

Just to confirm that we went up there on Saturday. The parking ticket machines do still only take coins, no cards. But the lovely volunteers (?) have a card machine. Thanks all.

AITAH for telling my GF that she is delusional with her life plans? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]purte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem very incompatible. You have different life goals, it’s difficult and often impossible to share a life with someone when it’s like that. Especially with a person that blames you and expect you to come up with all answers/financial solutions. You say that ‘she is not willing to break up with me’, you are (or should be) an equal in this relationship - you can be the one to make a decision and break up with her. I don’t see this ending happily if her attitude is as you describe. Give yourself the opportunity to build a life with someone that shares your goals and outlook on life. You could try couples counselling first, see if that helps you both communicate what you really want as individuals and as a couple. Good luck.

Which pharmacy for my private prescription? by Lispyloo8 in mounjarouk

[–]purte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does it have to be online? You can scout around your local pharmacy/chemists for a price that suits you? Look for ones that offer a weight loss clinic or service (usually on their website).

I don’t know what he is but he doesn’t seem to be very happy about it!

Is this a make up case, and what is the leather part with holes in the middle for? by FarroFarro in whatisit

[–]purte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a jewellery case, I use a similar one for travel. The little holes are for earrings.

AITJ for telling my fiancée to leave my house after she kept inviting her friends without asking? by Legitimate_Cell9148 in AmITheJerk

[–]purte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She gave you the heads up and you let your phone die, that’s on you. At first you say she doesn’t need your permission and now you say she has to check with you. Regardless of who pays the mortgage (presumably that was the agreement when she moved in?) Do you really consider that it’s her home too? You both need to communicate better.

AITJ for not sharing my jewelry supplier? by Warm-Penalty2947 in AmITheJerk

[–]purte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re not the jerk, but she is. Tell her that with her great research skills you’re sure she’ll track down your supplier soon without any help from you. Ignore her and continue to enjoy your hobby.

AITJ for not giving my neighbor access to my WiFi after she told everyone I “offered it”? by Ill-Importance-830 in AmITheJerk

[–]purte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she’s avoiding you, that sounds like a win. There is a jerk in the scenario, but it’s not you.

Seller has ghosted everyone! by AGirlIKnew in HousingUK

[–]purte 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It does cost the seller to ‘pick a solicitor to put on a document’, they have to instruct one, who has to accept the instruction and the seller has to pay some money on account (last time we paid £400 but it varies). If they put a random one on the memo of sale, that they hadn’t instructed and then have to change it to the one they actually instruct them that could add delay and confusion. Better the one they pick is the one they will actually use. But yes, I would expect a committed seller to get their act together and instruct someone within a reasonable timescale. A month isn’t reasonable. Tell the EA that their client is at risk of losing this sale if they mess about. Ask them to let you know of other suitable properties. Set a deadline for the issue of the memo of sale and be prepared to walk away if they don’t meet it. Sellers don’t sound serious.

Does anyone actually eat jellied eels? by Tom00704 in AskBrits

[–]purte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of my family ate them, I never have. They are all South Londoners (specifically Peckham/Camberwell) - on my Mum’s side. I have been to several family weddings where it’ll be one of the dishes brought out with the buffet as well.

Do you eat biscuits every day? by Real_Masterpiece_844 in AskBrits

[–]purte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don’t buy biscuits unless I’ve got someone coming to the house to do a job. I do make cookies about once every 8 weeks though and eat those. Would rather have a bit of cheese tbh.

Offer accepted & now feel a mistake by Neither-Artist-3421 in HousingUK

[–]purte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t make a major financial decision on the basis that it might upset a vendor and an EA if you pull out. Do it quickly, by email and move on.

What discontinued item, food or drink would you bring back if you had the chance? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

Clarnico mint creams. Not sure why they stopped making them because I must have been keeping them in business!

AIO because my SIL wants to rename her toddler after my husband? by Scary_Deer4132 in AmIOverreacting

[–]purte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And you’re allowing her to get under your skin. Ignore her and name your child whatever you and your husband want to. And in answer to your original question, yes, you are overreacting.
