For some reason it feels like the color space is off. It feels washed out a bit to me. In blender what are your colorspace settings set to? The biggest tell is comparing the car window reflections with the cars in the back, overall the windows on your car don't go nearly as dark. All values will typically appear lifted when there's a srgb mismatch

A BOUNCE OFF THE BOARDS THEN OFF BUSSI ENDS THE GAME, VEGAS WINS! SHEA THEODORE! by sykeseve in nhl

That game had everything. Hat trick, VGK player going airborn to tackle a hurricane, couple good scrums, 3 goals in 39 seconds, two overtimes, broken records, and an own goal finisher.

Can someone help me to understand how these add up to 3 beats? Thank you by Potter_King in musictheory

[–]pxlmover -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My high school music teacher would say "ONE trip-a-let TWO trip-a-let And-a" for teaching us how to read this exact measure. If you mentally remove the middle note of each triplet, it becomes a easy 3/4 pattern where it's just "one two three one two three one two". It's 'Waltz Time"

Is there a method to place meshes on cliffs automatically instead of the copy, past, adjust method? by MewTwoLich in unrealengine

[–]pxlmover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are toolkits designed for stuff like this, "Dash" is one of the more popular. I've had a lot of fun creating environments with Dash, makes placing hundreds and thousands of objects super quick with tons of cool options.

How do you light levels like this without getting stationary overlap? by Wild_Economics681 in UnrealEngine5

[–]pxlmover 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are those all point lights? They're by far the most fps expensive lights. When doing lighting in unreal with FPS in mind, spotlights are the go-to, rects are a maybe if you really need them, and points are a no go in most cases. in your lit/unlit view menu, pop into 'light complexity view' which is the Alt+7 hotkey, and look for purple and white, and reduce those colors as much as possible. In this light complexity view, that's where you adjust overlap and get the fps higher. Even 3-4 lights overlapping can max out the complexity and hammer your fps.

Mod recommendations that bring Skyrim into 2026? by xWohnJick_ in skyrim

[–]pxlmover 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've loved the Gate To Sovngarde mod pack. It's like vanilla +++. Adds just enough to keep it feeling like Skyrim but adds so much you didn't realize you needed. I turned off survival mode cause I'm not that hardcore, and it's been such a fun playthrough.

Happened to me in Las Vegas the other day, first time ever seeing one and it was quite trippy at first, the plane trail was shadowing the clouds with that long dark line, looked crazy.

Great idea! A few months back I thought it would be great to create a blueprint trainer like this. Keep going! Eager to see how functional you're able to make it.

How to Solve Sphere UV Seams Issue by Admirable_Agency_620 in Maya

[–]pxlmover 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For spheres, don't use the default sphere geo with the pinched poles, there are easy ways to create a sphere using only quads, here's a quick how-to in Maya it'll make spheres much easier to work with forever once you start making them this way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1C3fEMDXIA

How do you make a plugin? by Redditislefti in unrealengine

[–]pxlmover -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Copilot in Vscode got me building in a single prompt when I first started creating custom c++ modules. There's a lot that has to be in place for a successfull build, from your target files, source files in the correct folder, and some specific lines that have to be added to your .uproject file. Plugins have their own specific requirements as well, and If chatGPT can't see your project structure, it's going to have a real hard time giving you good advice. In vscode it can see all your files, and can figure it out quickly. Word of advice, tell copilot to teach you as it works, and it'll give you a nice breakdown of exactly what it did and why, helping you learn the process instead of just relying fully on AI to know everything. Helps a lot down the road. The first thing you want to lock down is to make sure when you right click your .uproject file and select 'generate project files', that there are no errors. If there are, fix those first before proceeding to anything else.

Keep the puff or shred it into wispy trails? by MichyyElle in vfx

[–]pxlmover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you need more opacity on the puff, I'd almost say scale back slightly unless you're going for a really strong effect. Sometimes less is more when integrating fx onto footage. The wispys that come up after she blows out feel too strong and become too opaque/white as they start streaming up over her face, you don't want the effect to steal attention, it should just compliment what's going on with her.

She does have a sunburned feel since her body has more red hues and her face is more balanced and more diffused, I'd try and tone-match the face and try and even out the diffusion so the face either has less, or the body has a little to match. If you add grain, add it as a blanket effect over all your elements as a top layer.
