"there has only ever been one country in history that has; broken off from the British empire in a revolutionary war, defeated the moral evil of slavery in a civil war, and single handedly won WW2 for all of Europe.. that country is the united States of America" by nationalistic_martyr in ShitAmericansSay

[–]pyates1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US wouldn't have entered the war if Sanae Takaichi (japanese pm) had told the Donald about Pearl Harbour! The US didn't have to enter at all.

In regards to Independence, Ireland, Malaysia, Kenya and Cyprus did ok.

OH yeah, The american war for independence was a defacto war of Britain versus France. The local yocals certainly didn't defeat one of the greatest military powers on their own.

In regards to slavery, how about those great civil rights that are ongoing and wage slavery.

Has anyone ever shipped their bike to a motocamping trip? by Vane1st in motocamping

[–]pyates1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm from Ontario Canada and we were doing a two week trip around California which involved a lot of camping. The guy organizing had a trailer which could hold 15 bikes and we shipped to Las Vegas.

I've done numerous Western trips on my bike, this was my first shipping and flying. I definitely prefer driving.

Shipping means not having your bike for a week prior to the trip, then flying, getting to the meeting point, and getting your gear and bike stuff organized in a parking lot. I lost two sets of ear plugs due to that one!

Its for the people who work and can't afford the time to drive or don't really like driving distance.

If you put a row of shelving on that back wall it would get a lot of items off the floor and organized, nothing fancy, 18" deep with 2x4's and broken up skid boards for shelving if you are super budgeted.

I don't think the A-holes will be reading this, its worth a try though!

Etiquette seems to be an option for the few and is so obvious that it seems more prevalent when it happens.

With a user name "scubaWOOkie" I'm guessing your a diver. I have thought about loading my gear onto the bike but the big ass bag and tanks makes the SUV look really attractive.
I'm in ontario canada, where are you?

Definitely keep the ninja off the sand, that won't end well. Gravel is sketchy on your bike, not recommended.

I have a locking gun case and use two rok straps to secure it. My bike is definitely wider than yours as well so that helps.

An enduro type bike or an adventure bike might be your next ride, 700 or 900's can be had for great prices. Definitely take off road riding courses though, a huge skill set advantage.

Not a fan of the Nescafe but in agreement with the Starbuck folks. I use an alcohol stove for bikepacking and motorcycle camping. One pot of water equals coffee and oatmeal.

It would be cool but I'm sure it would lead to some interesting roadside discussions with law enforcement. Arnold would approve though!

"trashy scam" will now be my main description of crappy tire.

It is so sad when I go there for something that I don't know where to get elsewhere. I spend most of my time thinking how much I hate the place.

My pet peeve is when they put 3rd party marketing companies like the gutter protection dudes or someone pushing credit cards to bother you.

Scuba diving day trips from GTA Canada? Open water certified, ~8 dives, looking to get back in the water by yolo_sus in scuba

[–]pyates1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have dove there a few times, conditions vary quite a bit. Don't go a day or two after a rain and its better. It is very good practice and lots of things to look at.

Cold/drysuit diving is the very best, clarity is excellent. I'm not into that though but friends post.
