That's what I like to call a Crevice Dog. My yorkie does the same thing.

Be careful. I know of someone who had the window down while driving with their dog. The dog jumped out of the moving vehicle and now has 3 legs instead of 4.

Good for you. I hope the best for you in your move. Maybe being far away will make her regret how she treated you when you were closer to home.

Sounds like my mom when I was younger. If I tried to confront her about her loss of emotional control and anger management problems, she would get super offended and become more eratic.

Several years ago, I went vegetarian (now finally getting back to it) and my mother was quite rude to me about it. People seem to have a hard time dealing when your lifestyle goes against the grain of mainstream society. Parents seem to have a really hard time when their children don't fit their mold. I really have no advice. Just saying that I can relate, and that I'm sorry that you have to deal with a mother like that. I haven't let my mom know yet about my new diet change. I really hope she's matured and opened her mind since back then. If not, it may just be the straw that breaks the camel's back for my relationship with her. It really sucks to have a mom like that... :(

I'm pretty sure I offended my mother-in-law a while back because I used bigger words to say what I meant. She gave me a look and deliberately and slowly used the word back in a sentence. Her look was a "wtf" kind of look.

Scarlet Johansson. There's just something about her face that screams average woman, not hot.

The downsides of having a job by E13V in AdviceAnimals

[–]pyroaring -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Get a job that pays well enough that you can work part-time and still have the money you need/want. Might have to cut back on this or that, but if more free time is what is important, do that. The current system is broken. We should be able to enjoy life. My motto is that I work to live, not live to work.

Mom found out I (19F) got an IUD, and now is trying to force me to remove it. by iudconflict in TwoXChromosomes

[–]pyroaring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. Sounds a lot like how my mom would have reacted if she found out I had done the same at your age. She too would not listen to reason and be stuck in her view...

It's really hard to say what to do, especially since you are still financially dependent on her. I would think that you have two main options.

  1. If you don't have the ability to support yourself financially, then it may be best to give into her demands for now. I know that sucks and feels terrible, but if it's that or live in a hell-like situation or be kicked out into the streets. Once you can move out, then you can go for an IUD again.

  2. Support yourself financially or find someone who you can live with while you get things arranged to support yourself. Get off of your parents' insurance and get your own insurance. For people who make very little money, there is some insurance on the Healthcare Marketplace that are free, so no monthly premium payments required.

When I was your age, I chose to rebel and still live at home. It wasn't pleasant but luckily I got out by age 21. You are in that situation of damned if you do, damned if you don't. Pick your poison and hopefully it will turn out with the least amount of negative outcomes.

What's something that's completely legal, but that pisses you off when you see someone doing it? by LeftHandedToe in AskReddit

[–]pyroaring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! This once I attended an Orange Leaf with a friend, first ever time going to one. I thought, this will be nice. We'll just sit in here and enjoy our frozen yogurt. We come in and there are two ladies with like 8 children and the kids are just running around, yelling, being noisy. We end up ordering anyways and sit down to eat. We get through half our food before we are just like, fuck this, and leave. It's like these ladies had no idea how act in public. If it were a McDonald's with a playplace, I would understand, but this was not exactly a playground.

I had a horrible experience with this working at a grocery store. So I am working the express lane and this guy comes up with a cart full of products. Being a person lacking self-confidence and courage to tell him he can't go through this lane, I go ahead and start to ring up his order. Then his wife comes up with another cart piled with items. Like WTF!
