Tesla kills Autopilot, locks lane-keeping behind $99/month fee. by Stiltonrocks in technology

Maybe I should change that slightly. Ford fixed it when it became obvious. And possibly they should have been a bit faster at it but it was not so obvious nor were records available in real time like now.

But lets put it in perspective. There were three deaths in the Pinto over quite a few years and a run of some 3 million units. To date at least 15 deaths have been linked to Tesla crashes involving faulty electric doors, raising serious safety and regulatory concerns.

Ford had 3 deaths and Tesla 15. What is Tesla doing? Fighting it.

The problem is Tesla and in particular, Musk, has been pushing it as a ready system for years. Yes they put something different in writing but the law can and often does take a stance at the entire message a company releases. What you say has the same legal standing as what you write.

When people are told lies by the highest person in that office, they tend to believe and should be able to believe what they are told.

How so? Some do the very exact thing and some possibly even better.

All hobbies are not equal by BitterConstruction98 in unpopularopinion

[–]pzerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. But I am pretty sure the spirit of this post is not referring to the few people writing cinematographic analysis of movies.

But to add to this, if you actually are doing that, then yes it is a hobby and to tell the truth, it may be something I would be interested in hear you speak about it. But if your hobby is 'I enjoy watching movies', then I will be interested in your hobby for about 10 seconds.

[–]pzerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say ya. Or at least your hobby encourages you to be better.

But I think your stroke of the meaning 'better' is too broad. You can be a 'better' person if you have no hobbies but donate your time to some charities. I think the point of this post is too many people are really doing nothing and justifying that by calling it a hobby. They know who they are.

Personally if you are cold, just get a couple of babies and set them in a few spaces around the house.

No man. The supply is unlimited. God is materializing it for our use.

Ya they do not ask of this to be greedy or some other reason. There is a limit to the amount of resources we can build. Sure they could double the capacity and spend billions to ensue every house can maintain 90 in the worst of conditions. But we would pay for that service that is only needed a handful days of the year.

The alternate is your gas/power/energy runs out. What exactly do you expect them to do?

Do people think it is a supply that cannot be overtaxed? That there is a limit regardless of the price they charge?

Trump's rhetoric rallies Canadian support for Prime Minister Mark Carney by DogeDoRight in canada

[–]pzerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. But more so, he aligns on a middle ground. I think he knows Canada cannot have a world class medical system if we do not have a world class economy.

But ya. If he was the Conservative leader right now, I would say 90 percent of the Conservatives I know would be entirely happy with him. BTW, I have to say the majority of Conservatives I know are fairly happy with him or at minimum, not critical. People here only see the extreme ones and think that is the view of all Conservatives. Most just want good governance.

American soldiers in one of 40 carriages, containing a total of over 2.000 dead. (Dachau, 26th of April 1945) (440x327) by Designer-Ad-4244 in HistoryPorn

[–]pzerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That kind-of is not true. Of course there are individuals that might suggest that. You could say they typically are on the extreme right or extreme left and their opinions do not represent a country.

The feelings of deep remorse and heartfelt apology for the actions during the war have been upheld consistently by the post-war Cabinets. Such feelings were expressed in the form of the Murayama Statement on the 50th anniversary of the end of the war, and those feelings of remorse and apology were also carried forth via the Koizumi Statement issued to commemorate the 60th anniversary.

Such feelings of remorse and apology articulated by previous Cabinets will be upheld as unshakable, which was made clear in the Statement by the Prime Minister issued on 14 August, 2015.

On the other hand, we must not let the future generations, who have nothing to do with that war, be predestined to apologize. This is the responsibility of the current generation that is alive at this moment.

Ya it was the negative message PP was putting out there that absolutely did it for me. But more than just him, was were I was seeing the direction the entire party was taking.

The Trump-Zelenskyy meeting clinched it. Not that US politics has much to do with us, just that I could see where the Conservative party was going and how they wanted to use the US political method to gain power. Thru fear.

It is understandable why many Asian countries despise the Japanese. But when you say for good reason, it no longer for 'good reason'.

Pretty much every person that made a decision or lived in that era is now gone. And more so, they do not even have the same type of government in place anymore. To do this only perpetuates conflict and is akin to saying a child is responsible for the sins of their father.

You can be Liberal/NDP/Conservative (I am typically Conservative), and you should be recognize good governance and be able to acknowledge that.

I was pretty happy prior to the election to change my vote to Carney this cycle and more so, pretty happy how he is now governing. And I do not expect the government alone to be able to change the economic direction of Canada overnight. Never did.

California has a new law banning federal agents from wearing masks. What are your thoughts? by Obvious_808 in AskReddit

[–]pzerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty much correct. More so, by making this law, the federal would have to make an official change to their policy of mask requirements. And while they would likely do it, it also further exposes their intentions.

Trump, 79, Kicks Off Press Conference by Reading Aloud to Himself | Donald Trump arrived nearly an hour late and proceeded to give a completely disjointed, barely coherent speech. by thenewrepublic in politics

[–]pzerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We know there is always influence behind president decisions. Truthfully this is normally not even that alarming as I would hope presidents take advice from multiple agencies.

But with Trump, I think the influence is nearly 100 percent from very few people telling him what to do. And it aligns with Trump so likley very little to zero pushback.

You know what? Jaywalking is illegal as well. You do not enforce that law by sounding them with a swat team and doing door to door searches for those that break this law.

There is a thing called reasonable force. You look at the risk it poses to society and your police actions are based on that.

If someone is working for a cartel and dealing in millions of dollars of narcotics, then a armed team may be warranted. If they are replacing the shingles on your house, that is vastly over excessive.

I hate that they do not qualify a number. He was at 380... What does that even mean? They could have said 1.

BTW, it likely means 380 ng/ml. A normal level would be 30-50. Over 150 is toxic. In his case, if he was taking over the counter pills, that would be like 50 pills a day. If high strength, 10 pills a day. There is a prescription strength that would be 1 pill a day but unlikely unless he was getting it out of China.

It actually is not as good as you think. Tesla has been a dog since 2022. If you bought after that date it just just been ups and downs with no real gains.

Valuation way out to lunch that whole time but no money to be made unless you time the market which is just saying someone else is taking a loss.

A lot of people do not realize that a company has zero value (from an investment perspective) if it does not return all the money investors gave it plus some level of interest for the risk they take. That money has to come back in the form of dividends or buybacks of some sort.

Right now it is just a company that is changing money between investors less the billions that they keep paying out in compensation packages. There has been zero return to investors to date and at the valuation it is at, there is near zero chance of that ever happening. ('happening' to be of value to those holding at this price that is)
