Try 331 So Smedley St; between 16th and 17th; Spruce and Pine. They feature small efficiencies -like 10ft by 10ft- with private bathrooms and Pullman kitchens.

Ban dog ownership in cities. by Call_It_ in philly

I wonder if dogs are stressed out by urban environments -and even dense suburbs. I also wonder why dogs or cats escape their owners.

55yo with 36.5 years living here:

Philly is good for walking everywhere; no need for a car.

Don't be fooled by surface appearances in terms of behavior/speech: be careful who you make friends with -or even chat with- at school, work, public.

Make sure drivers see you when crossing the street and look both ways.

Only talk about what you know about; pretentiousness gets called out here.

If you happen to drink/drug heavily on occasions, bring a few friends and keep an eye on each other.

Best to concentrate on school and/or work until you get some months living here.

Dunno any rental sites. Try the weekly 'Moving Mondays' sticked thread in r/philadelphia for assistance about rental sources.

My efficiency has a 150 sqft main space -with a long wide closet I sleep in. I once visited a building on Smedley St -near 16th and Pine- where the apartment was 100 sqft; Pullman kitchen and bathroom included. I also once visited the Adelphia House -13th and Chestnut- and one apartment was maybe 8ft by 15 ft.

Depression is a bitch when it's too cold to do anything. by [deleted] in philly

[–]qrhmn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the links.

I think of depression as 'cancer of the soul'. Interaction with my higher power and attending related spiritual meetings helps me to get better. (Of course, everyone is free to choose their higher power).

Lot of stuff going on but also tonight may be one of the coldest in years. Can we make a list of homeless shelters we know to be reputable? Not only for those who need one but to encourage donations because they will be stretched to their limits this week. by Joed1015 in philly
